I think every car driver should take their bike test. It don't half improve your road sense when you KNOW even a low speed spill is going to hurt.

I now drive my Chim like I rode my 'Ace.

We don't critise those who prefer to climb rocks, go down potholes, jump from planes, etc, yet these are much more risky than driving and can cost a lot more when someone is lost and is found dead. Let's keep a balanced view of wheelies.

I am afraid you are missing the original point I made, which is if you want to risk your OWN life climbing, hang gliding, skydiving fine, that is up to you...

BUT riding a motorbike on the back wheel at over 70mph on a "A" class road, with traffic coming the other way, (speed of impact over 100mph) is unforgivable imo, maybe on a deserted motorway yes, that's another matter.

Wacky, I don't disagree with you re "traffic coming the other way". My assumption was that the rider was the only one in potential danger.

I think everyone should have to take a further test if they want to drive a higher spec machine. Would stop the muppets who cant drive well but can afford to buy fast cars from putting our insurance premiums up.
