the fact that doing 65 on a perfectly clear motorway is dangerous,
Can you link to some evidence for this assertion.Despite doing mile after mile, not an incident or evidence of one in sight, as is usual 99% of the time on the M25.
No jams showing on nav screen ( which is remarkably accurate) but the variable is on.

Can you provide some actual evidence that doing 65, 5mph below the limit, on a clear m/way, is dangerous?

Did you read the first line ?
It must be, it's why I got photographed doing it...Is it sinking in?
It's fk all to with whether it's dangerous or not. The fact is we are stuck with the law as it is. Cameras are part of that whether we like it or not. It must be, it's why I got photographed doing it...Is it sinking in?
Most of us don't but we learn how to get about without falling foul.
To blunder on and pick up 12 points cannot be described as anything other than dumb, in all honesty.

+1 Somewhat of a nuisance for those who drive for work and have to spend hours on motorways and dual carriageways and be subjected to speeds that would put someone with ADHD to sleep. Or ignore them and risk unjustifiable punishment.

Middle age men speed because it's one of the few ways we can match the young kids without getting exhausted from the effort! If there is one action that makes women laugh & young people laugh even more is the pathetic sight of the middle-aged male so feeble of mind as to be incapable of accepting the advance of years. Those with the most lasting of laughs are the purveyors of hair colouring & sports cars.

The only'advice' I asked for, is if anyone had experienced a similar situation.
It's cameras, a hazard of the job I do, and probably many others too. I won't change my attitude to the fact that the motorist is an easy cash cow, nor the fact that doing 65 on a perfectly clear motorway is dangerous, as previously, zombie mode, etc.
If I get a ban, I'm lucky enough to be in a position to work round it, that doesn't mean I'm not going to explore all avenues to avoid or reduce it.
Now there's some cheeky fekks on here, but I'm a big boy, I've already agreed they have a point, but those that use the distance and anonymity of the Internet to get brave should get back to their exam studies...
Shouldn't they Maxxy...
Hope this doesn't sound sanctimonious because along with most of this website I regularly speed too. It's cameras, a hazard of the job I do, and probably many others too. But....if I was so unobservant that I got caught twice by a camera, let alone 4 times in a single year, then I would seriously question my attention span and thus my safety in speeding. I got caught for the first time this year and I was hugely embarrassed because it is so stupid.
4 times. One year.

Who gives a st what they think? - I buy the cars that I want for Myself, not for everyone else around Me!
As for your theory that middle-aged men buy sportscars because they're "so feeble of mind as to be incapable of accepting the advance of years" - What a generalised load of old bks!
The main reason middle aged men buy sportscars is because their families have finally grown up , the mortgage has been paid off, and they can finally afford to have the toy they always promised themselves (And yes, there are some middle-aged men out to impress young girls with their sportscars, desperately trying to deny that they're getting old, but there are far fewer of those than you seem to think there are!)
I hate to think what a sad, boring old fart you're going to be as you get older, trundling around at 20 mph everywhere in a Honda Jazz automatic (or dare you risk the Honda Civic? You'd need to be careful which Civic you buy - Choose one that's too sporty and someone might laugh! ).

I too have been frustrated by lots and lots of nothing signs over the years, I do about 30k these days.
The older posters will probably remember the dashcam footage I put on here one day, it was a few years ago now, but this one incident frightened me so much that it still affects how I drive today.
I was driving down the M40 on a bright sunny afternoon, I had been passing "incident" with a suggested (not mandatory) 50 sign for mile after mile after mile after effing mile.
I could see for miles ahead, there was no obstructions, no danger, no queues, nothing.
I got bored, sped up, overtook a couple of vehicles and put my car (probably in excess of 70 mph), about a foot from a persons head, he had been ejected from a car and was lay half in half out of the central reservation with another person bent over him.
Bad luck that I got bored, bloody good luck that I missed them.
I'll find you the footage if you want, it demonstrates to me just how little detail you can actually process at what we consider to be normal speeds these days.
There may have been no animals, they may have been cleared before you got there, or you may have passed them and not noticed.
As I said, good luck.
