Question;

What would happen if these chumps started to threaten you, and you got your own "Friends" down there..

I'd happily set fire to each of these type of company smile

Just rang Companies House about them. Apparently a PO Box is allowable if you provide a street address irked

So what harm can PH do using officialdom?

"Mr Stone has LBS Enforcement now taxed and insured all it's vehicles? They were not the last time I checked.
If not look out, as I shall be phoning the Authorities DVLA and Police and the Press insisting on immediate enforcement action..ie clamping.......and you don't know me from Adam do you. I could be standing next to you now."

Go and do some detective work yourself chap, insurance, tax, tyres, anything wrong get the Police down there smile

They threaten you = 'civil matter'.

You kick off with them = police would attend promptly.

The company needs to be a Register Approved Contractor for the same. LBS do not appear on the SIA's register (by that name) at all when I just checked - Streaky
Sorry.

Totally and utterly wrong.

Directors can have a nonfrontline licence as long as they don't apply clamps to vehicles. If they do, they require a frontline licence as does anybody working for them who applies clamps. As long as the individual's hold a valid SIA VI licence, then they can operate and run the business.

Currently a company itself, DOES NOT have to be part of the SIA AC register to operate as a clamping/towing company. There is currently NO obligation to be a member of the AC register, whether it be a regular security company, or one that operates a clamping/towing service. It is mearly an SIA quality standard similar to the ISO 9001 audit system.

My statement is NOT "totally and utterly wrong". I accept that I erroneously understood that the company had to be on the AC register. But it is correct that at the time I checked LBS Enforcement Ltd DID NOT appear on the register - Streaky

TBH, it was the bit about the "Needs to be" that I picked up on. People keep banging on about companys having to be licenced to carry this out, and that just isn't the case.

Excellent!

Is there anything PHer's could do to make the companies life that little bit more difficult? Surely we must be able to do something which is perfectly legal but will really get on their nerves?

Any ideas?

If you have their phone numbers you could get everyone to call randomly pretending they are a chinese takeaway, then get all shirty when they will not deliver a 32, 63 and fried rice.

+1 This beats my post idea...plus it's more interactive and the results will be immediately satisfying.

I have just received information that both Mark Stone and Matthew Boosey have criminal records and have both been in prison. I have had a positive email from the Assistant Cheif Constable and Southend Police are on the case. However we will need more evidence and not speculative accusations.

If you have encountered either Stone or Boosey then PM via Pistonheads. If you have receipts from being clamped and there is a VAT number on there; then check it is a genuine VAT number. If it is a fake number then hand it into the Police.

Together we will nail these villians.
