FFS, being a copper is just a job. Why do some of you think it's any more impressive than being a plumber? It isn't and you earn far less dough than plumber anyway.

Flash. LOL. I nearly spat my coffee over the keyboard. You don't change...

Street, mate. What makes you think that the powers that be read Pistonheads, or even think any differently? Or care if you do? Some will, some won't. Don't post from a work computer and who's to know or care?

Its not like PH is a hotbed of subversion, is it? Its a bunch of middle class (and some middle aged) blokes and lasses banging on about cars and driving (with a bit of road safety in there somewhere).

Say what you like...its a relatively anonymous Internet Forum FFS.

I find it particularly repulsive that our open and honest "club" is being monitored by maries and brownshirts obviously with the intent to spread their greenie and socialist conformity plans. I had suspected this monitoring after the emotional and totally incorrect whining from a political member of a supposed "safety" site, as well as the obviously anally retentive remarks made by a useless bureaucrat whinger in Cumbria.

And mores the pity that a straightforward BiB now has to tone down his (mostly) well put arguments just in case he becomes a target for such PC BULLSHIT.

A sign of the times?? No, a damned dangerous sign of political controlfreakism by parapolitical organisations, with leanings to bLIAR and company.
Keep your hands off and your damned controlfreak noses out of Pistonheads I say!!

Very very very annoyed!!! This is the type of control that bigbrother politicos want to have over us, it's really time to pick up the cudgels and break a few stupid thick socialist politico heads........

Ladies and Gentlemen...

I must make you aware of the following;

In future, I, Street, will continue to post messages and threads on here, but will tone down the content.

There are political movements and wranglings in the 'police service' at present time and officers 'talking out of line' might find themselves in hot water. Not something that I wish to find myself in, with 19 years left to retirement and the trafpol job of boys' dreams....

Consequently, my regular 'no holds barred' speeches and such like will have to be more moderate and thought out before posting. Common sense really on my behalf, which I sometime throw to the wind, along with Caution.

I hope you can understand and sympathise with my position....

In the meantime, I have the pleasure to remain;
Street

Hi Street
I guessed as much already. The tone of your posts has definately changed to being more PC recently. I understand. Its your job and you dont want to lose it. Tis a shame though that your cant speak your mind.

Interesting comment though.

Everyone has something to offer from their jobs /personal experience and the police are not always right (unless you are brunstrom...)

Thats what makes these forums interesting

Strange that he doesn't appear to give 'Know it all advice' on plumbing!

His line of work brings him into the realms of being a professional regarding law and motor vehicles. Something of which many on this site appear to believe they themselves are experts because they have worked hard and earnt a few quid to pay for expensive toys which they routinely drive badly because 'they think they know' and have done a few laps around a track.

Flasher I do not know what you do, but if you were to start posting on a site which details a notice board in relation to your field of 'expertise', I think I would refrain from the sort of message you have posted above.

Strange that the bits you want to hear are applauded but the bits you don't like are not

I have no problem with any decision you might make personally in your own interests, but the whole idea of controlling the opinions of Police officers is very scary indeed. I would like to receive anonymously any memos or documentation relating to this restriction. I would then give them due publicity.

Anyone can send me snail mail to

Trace House
Clay of Allan
Fearn near Tain
Ross-shire
Scotland
IV20 1RR

I undertake to destroy envelopes on receipt, and I can assure everyone that the source of such documentation would then be completely untraceable. (Perhaps wear rubber gloves for preparation?) If there's any doubt at all I'll scan the documents and destroy the originals and only then publish.

I would also point out that there are some worthy high anonymity Internet proxies that anyone can use to obscure their identity. See this Google:

www.google.com/search?q=%2B%22high+anonymity%22

And the Safe Speed forums have facilities for anonymous submissions. See:

www.safespeed.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=71

Documents by snail mail is one of the best and one of the safest.

Don't let the control freaks get away with it

Can't see what someones paypacket has to do with this anyway?

Roy Keane at Manchester United "earns" well over £100,000 pw including sponsorship deals, does this make him any better than a nurse on £400 pw, that helps to save lives and works lousy hours???

Most, (not all) plumbers are rip off merchants anyway....

That's the entire point....I've never appeared holier than thou....quite the opposite. Not quite sure how I've got on your ManTits though ...I've told the truth and also my opinion. That is what can get BiB in the shite.

From now on...there WILL be a danger of me appearing holier than thou....

A real shame to hear that, adn very worrying too. There is far too much suggestion of such things these days, a lot of "We can't do anything offcially, we just want to let you know we're watching you and we think it would be in your interests to agree with us." The Police is supposed to be independent of the Govenrment, as is the army, Parliament and a fair few other things, for very good reasons, but it's being ignored in such a shameless way it makes me want to chuck! But of course we don't need to concentrate on any of that, it's not important. Look at this nice photo opp instead!

Honourless, motherless assfkers

Anyway, sorry to hear that
