Simple then really - every time you enter a box junction, put your right indicator on and don't worry.

well yeah - if you're a selfish c**t and think blocking other people is generally fine whatever ther reason!

this bloke was obviously in the right (assuming everyone is telling truth) and being stitched by shoddy prosecution.

I would consider anyone blocking a box junction otherwise to be a thoughtless twat personally!

I wonder if others can now get their convictions overturned?

I am a bit worried that this initiative could actually make congestion worse. Generally, in the heavy traffic of London, people use some jusdgement to cross a box junction. If the car in front can clearly make it well across the junction, you don't wait until he has done so, but instead both cross at the same time.

Very occasionally someone will cut him up, and you find yourself with your arse end in the junction.

The alternative, everyone waiting until the car in front has fully cleared will flow many fewer vehicles across the junction. If I thought the wardens enforcing the rules used some discretion, it would be fine, but who believes that they will turn down the chance to slap a ticket on, no matter how minor (or non-existant) the offence?

Yes Streetcop - this is exactly the most likely person to APPEAL unfair treatment. Unlike the meak peons in their microcars that will take whatever is thrown at them without protest.

Only directors can drive 4 x 4s now? More like...he doesn't like anyone telling him what to do or having to obey the laws of the land like everyone else..

I can picture him now...

Erm, but he was shown not to have broken the law, but instead to have been falsely fined. He was driving in accordance with the rules of the road, correctly, and was hit with the fine by someone who clearly misunderstood the law.

How, from that, can you suggest that this shows he doesn't want to have to obey the law?

Are people who are innocent not allowed to even say so now without people accusing them of refusing to obey the law?

I reckon rule 150 and the accompanying diagram should be displayed prominently on a signpost at the junction of Greyfriars / Union St / Bromham Rd in Bedford... everyone seems to do the exact opposite of what rule 150 states. There's a red light camera there, but it doesn't nick box junction violations... would reel in more money than any speed camera if it did.
