Remember going to Cleethrorpes nick for a pint after footy duty at Grimsby(visiting spotting duties) they had two Ford RS500's marked up in the back yard. Went back some time later and they got a couple of Jap Supercars of some sort doing the same job.

Their Road Crime team had a couple of Imprezas and an E46 330 (which was the Dog vehicle - poor Dog!). I think they got Evo 10s after that.

They then got an ISF.

They always used Targas or Cabrios.

No idea why!

Didn't A UK force use MGB convertibles where the crew had to have the hood open all year round in all weather bar heavy rain? Am sure it was regularly crewed by WPCs (that's what they called them back then). It was all about having a high profile.

I have a vague recollection that there was a TR 8 police car. I can't find any pics.
I believe you, not that I ever saw one. However I did see one of these when I was in Manchester and it was on duty, ironically I was driving my first car at the time, a MkII 3L Capri S
