Out of interest did the cost of the warranty show as a separate itemised cost on your invoice from the trader or was it wrapped up in the price of the car?
Wrapped up in the price of the car. I've begun a claim through chargeback with my bank. Worth a go. Good luck with the claim back.

I thiught by going through a main dealer I was minimising risk, you live and learn.

A franchise dealer will, ordinarily, get two years notification of termination.
Doesn't help you, I know, but it's unlikely they still had anything to do with the manufacturer they used to represent.
Well they were still flogging their vehicles. Doesn't help you, I know, but it's unlikely they still had anything to do with the manufacturer they used to represent.
They had two garages with different manufacturers and apparently both pulled out same week:..
I'm not sure me contacting the manufacturer would help anyway as I didn't buy one of their vehicles.

Just to update the chargeback scheme worked.
So if you like me bought something on a debit card that you never received due to them folding etc. well worth trying chargeback. Result.
Great news! You won't forget to repay the bank if the administrator coughs up some dosh too, will you? So if you like me bought something on a debit card that you never received due to them folding etc. well worth trying chargeback. Result.
