best course of action for troublesome scrotes?

How about sneaking into their houses and putting a couple of doses of pheynolphylene (ok i cant spell it!)in their drinks and food. Should have some.. explosive (in the bowel region) effects. any collateral damage is just unfortunate. dont put too much in though as they might crap themselves to death. we dont want that now, do we?

Get onto the district inspector, explain the situation and things will be done.
Carrying baseball bats, 'booting' cars you already have two offences of being in possesion of an offensive weapon, and criminal damage. Not to mention an offence of abh following an assault.

I understand the angst as I was a beat manager for a rough area with problems similar to yours (not assuming you live in a rough area though). With the locals it was cleaned up pretty well in about a year. They knew me, I knew them, and yes, a bit of proactive policing went down well. (with the locals)
Be careful though, if you go down the other option of getting a bat yourself, I have always said it, these scrotes know what to do with the law, sometimes our hands are tied. It's all about evidence so be careful (obviously I am not condoning battering them with a bat)

Yeah cheers Mike its about time someone addressed this properly. It is all too frequent that the local police give this nothing we can do answer and nobody seems to think to take it further. Its strange really because if any other service is denied like refunds in a retail outlet the customer is quick to seek an audience with the management. You always need to seek expert help with problems of this kind and that means either the police or the local mafia. Either will do the job effectively, though the police are hindered by some sandalist vermin called politicians and civil servants. The local mafia always want paying sooner or later and one way or another. Both solutions require perseverance and dedication on the part of the residents.

Sandwood Bay, as you say, is fabulous. I have a picture of the bay as my PC wallpaper. Why spoil it by spilling a scrote's blood on the sand? There are plenty of other quiet places in the Highlands!

Unfortunately you are 100% wrong. If you do this (even if it's just you) they will turn up in force, and the full force of the law will be used against you.
They really hate it if you do their job for them, even if they won't do it.
You only have 2 options. Remove them from the neighbourhood or remove yourself.
Assuming you dont want to move your going to have to convince them to move, or have them removed.
The police can only act on what they can see so gather evidence of the "yobs". Put a dictaphone in your pocket and when your walking past them turn it on. Take some video of them with they are "batting" cars etc. If you get assulted take pics of any bruises and report it. Match up the offender with your Video. Eventually the police should re-home them.....
Or for the quick solution wait till they go out and burn their house down....

police have been round apparently, and have been very good about it all. Interestingly going down the route of what you mentioned in your Email, and putting a plan together.
My cousin has seen the little yobs out ikn the street, and they are certainly not laughing, and won't look at her.
Progress perhaps?. They are also aware that the fairly tight knit community of rather 'handy' people are not best pleased with them.
