A frustrating time, we have them settle on our patch pretty regularly.
Mungo is correct, abstracing electricity is an offence which can be taken further.

Other than that......an example of positive action by landowners...A group of travellers turned up outside their office premises which was on a trading estate. This was connected to a tannoy system. The tannoy system was turned on to play obnoxious music continually.

They moved on.

Just a question to serving bib.

Would it be possible to serve a sheaf full of section 59s on them? Not to mention all the FPN for tax, insurance, lack of operator's licence, unroadworthiness, need I go on?

Then when they ignore the notice or "you have suspicion they will ignore it" then threaten to sieze vehicles.

Of course if the vehicles are siezed they only get them back after paying towing and storage charges plus all outstanding taxes and fines. An idea??

You could call it Operation FiF.

I know this legislation was intended to deal with rude boys doing donuts on the local rec football field but why not.

Seems to me a significant amount of these jokers wealth is tied up in caravans, towing vehicles and various bits of plant. Dunno about the allegation that their liquid assets are hidden in trailers.

Seems to me, if my strategy would work that is, such an approach if done intelligently and methodically might get a result. Of course there is the risk of a crime wave locally as 4x4s, Mercs, trailers, backhoes etc are replaced from the community stock.

Even better if you can take along investigators from:
Dept Work & Pensions
HM Customs & Excise
ditto VAT
Inland Revenue
UK Immigration

I mean the point is this, either you get to feel some collars or they begger orf. A result either way I suggest.

Evil? me?

I'm sure this would be deemed racist and a breach of their human rights (the right to be a pikey) and, as such, will never happen.

Now, drop a fag butt in view of a copper and watch your collar get felt...

Alternatively (and I don't say this lightly), just send Mungo 'round to visit!!!

Hopefully the pressure of the other businesses and the landower should kick them off a bit.

Last time they were there it took 2 weeks. That seems to be about the fastest they can be shifted because of the way the law works. Oh boy, am I looking forward to cleaning all their mess up when they've gone...

They can be moved quicker - 24 hours I think is the best we achieved (a few years ago I worked with some property management bods). They used a baliff company to serve some kind of notice on them which was immediately (or very quickly) enforcable.

Pikeys have cost my old man tens and tens of thousands over the last couple of years (and his insurance company close to 6 figures).

When I lived in St.Albans, some years ago, a group of our tarmac-laying "friends" moved onto a nearby derelict factory site. The first night they were there, one of the caravans was mysteriously struck by half a gallon of paraffin and burned out.

They moved on the next day.

(Note for BiB; The original incident was nothing to do with me and I am no way advocating such behaviour.)

Similar incident happened on a farmers field when living in the 'wilds' of Wiltshire. Pikeys moved onto his field and soon started trashing it. Village went into lock-down mode as stuff soon was getting nicked.

Farmer loaded his muck spreader early one morning and started spraying the field with some very 'ripe' stuff

They were soon gone

I have to say I had thought about the music idea, except playing white noise. I saw two problems with that. Firstly we have nothing to play it out of. Secondly I would be worried that they would break in to turn it off. What about the numa numa, doo doo doo doo doo song though.......

We have to endure these scum of the earth regularly in the area where my parents live.
Once on a driving lesson, I had to follow a pony and trap race for 3 miles on a main road! Every time anyone tried to overtake, their army of vans blocked the road and drove across the whole road including laybys and exit sliproads to prevent anyone getting past!

We did find a way to move them on when they encamped on the car park next to our social club. A few local thugs, balaclavas, baseball bats and large concrete blocks. They went immediately. It may not be PC, but it damn well works!

Forget the white noise...

You need one of these http://thescotsman.scotsman.com/paperboy.cfm?id=685942002

Or even better, one of these! www.cabinetmagazine.org/issues/5/acousticsofwar.php

Furthermore, there was anecdotal evidence suggesting that at the right frequency, infrasound would liquefy [people's] bowels and reduce them to quivering diarrheic masses

Amazingly they left about lunchtime today, which is way faster than I was expecting. Someone said something about bailiffs coming down this morning so it sounds like someone has done what someone suggested last night. Very pleasing. All we have to do is fix the superficial damage to our doors. It seems that last nights entertainment was "lets throw bricks at these big metal doors and see what happens". Still, at least they're gone!

Glad to hear it

Just a shame they'll be making someone else's life a misery as we speak...

Surely the Welsh, Scots and Irish are true Brits, and not French/German/nordic etc etc.
