That is so scary, I'm pretty sure some people would fall for it.
Given there is a residential address, it should be easy for a copper to call round, I'm sure they've got time for it.

Love the wording in the T&C link the buyer is not allowed to borrow the car to another person! Someone’s obviously going to fall for this scam!!

You could see if you can spook them by asking if they still have the gold BMW and the Black Merc at their warehouse.

Then I said I wanted to see the car and received this at gone 11pm:

"Hi ,
Unfortunately we don't have the possibility to accommodate an inspection/pickup/cash sale because we have only a warehouse in the UK. All the sales must be completed online. By law you get the right to refund or exchange if the vehicle is not as described or fit for purpose ( Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Consumer Contracts Regulations legislation.)

The only way to sell the vehicle is to ship it with a 5 days buy back guarantee. After we have confirmation of funds transferred, we will make delivery arrangements."
The real advert for the XC60. Mileage on fake advert is based on the previous 2022 MOT.

No they don't. Look at the pictures they use on the website, clearly taken from real adverts - like a Kuga sold by Perrys.

This company name rings a bell. I'm sure there's been similar comments & replies to vehicle enquiries on the FB marketplace thread elsewhere on this forum.

It’s probably a card skimming operation. Advertise cars cheap but on a delivery only sale. They ring you up and offer a “payment on delivery for your peace of mind” then ask for a small delivery fee payable on card. Take all your details down as if they’re taking the payment. Wait a short while then call you back and claim some issue with the sale (colleague sold the car just before you called but hadn’t updated the system or whatever). Very sorry but not to worry, we’ve cancelled the delivery charge, it won’t even show on your statement.

Keep card details for a few months and sell them on or use them. By then you’ve forgotten about the cheap car deal that got away and never suspect that’s who got your details.

You think they use their own home address? I doubt they are that monumentally stupid.

I stumbled upon this supposed dealer selling bargain price cars, out of interest I enquired about one, an Audi SQ5, they are selling at £4200 - yes £4200, but a bit of delving and I've found it advertised at a real dealer for over £30k.

How do I report this site, and to whom, would the Police be interested or to the Motor Ombudsmen.

https://dealership.bde-transport.co.uk/vehicles-inventory/
You honestly thought a SQ5 would be that cheap?

Really?

The question is how did you stumble on to it in the first place.

There's at least one thread running on Facebook and scam ads etc.

Really.

Ok, if you must know I opened up FB marketplace, and as you know all sorts of crap is listed before you specify what you're looking for, which in my case is a titanium framed road bike, 54cm frame size, Shimano Dura ace groupset, disk brakes.

Low and behold the Audi was there, it was so unbelievable I had to have a look, then using "Brego" I found the real advertiser whom I contacted straight away, and also thought I'd enquire for a laugh at the cheap advert.

I haven't seen the Fb Market place thread.

I don't like SUVs

I don't like Audi's apart from R8, not that I would ever buy such a money pit.

Satisfied?

Now toddle off and do your accusations with somebody else.

Don't be a dick. It sounded that way to me, too. You can clarify your point without being a smart arse, even on PistonHeads.

Anyone who falls for these scams in my opinion (controversially) deserve all they get. It's sheer greed and fkwittery that makes people fall for it.

I really can clarify my point in anyway I see fit as the question was quite open and an overt attempt to belittle me.

As usual people are missing the whole point of the thread and trying to be "funny and/or smart". It's about trying to stop these scamming tts.

I disagree with you on the scam aspect as to why some, not all fall for it, but that's a discussion for the lounge, not SP&L.
