Crime involving Firearms......still on the up????
Discussion
Apart from all the airguns, replicas and other things that might go bang being included in the figures, real firearms crimes are actually increasing.
The largest rise being in the use of handguns, which you will recall are generally banned.
Surely this illustrates to even the most stunningly moronic politician that bans in themselves do nothing to control illegally held firearms.
Perhaps if they invested the time and money in policing the law instead of inventing new and unenforceable ones, they may actually achieve some results.
It would also make interesting reading to see how many legally held weapons are actually used in crime. A very small figure I would guess.

I know of at least two people who have simply handed in their (legal and legally held) rifles in the last couple of years - as the crap wasn't worth it...
Me - I'm thinking of taking up shooting...
This is their general tactic with legally held firearms; they know just banning the lot at the moment would prove too costly in terms of compensation etc, so they make the hoops of legal ownership more and onerous to reduce the number until it gets to the point were banned them all is feasible.
