I always say to people, we don't need to recruit more, there's more than enough Police employed to do the job, unfortunately far too many of them are sat on their backsides in offices doing 9-5 with their weekends off. I'm looked upon as some sort of mug for wanting to actually patrol in uniform doing shifts...

HW, thanks for the polite reply.

That seems to imply that alot of your colleagues prefer the 9-5 easier life? I guess there comes a time in the career where many people want that option or are just not fit enough to do the job that they originally envisaged?

I'd think they are sitting there doing admin jobs, working on idiotic special units, devising policies etc etc doing anything *but* policing. Notwithstanding those who are active fiddling the targets and statistics.

HW is right ; there are lots and lots of Policemen. They're just not used properly - intelligently or efficiently.

Rather than address the problems at source - fundamentally more coppers out there and streamline the paperwork - there are endless new initiatives and PR moves, so they can attempt to look like they are "doing something".

Gone once posted a life of what his shift did (I think he's a Sarge ?) and it was quite ridiculous really. Basically no-one did any *actual* policing - though they were all working.

Why are you applauding a service which you pay out of your backside for.

you should expect and dualy recive a service beyond your expectations!

Why else do we pay the rediculas amount of taxes we do!

So that when it comes a time for when we want some pay back we have to appriciate it!

HELL NO!

You work for me!

So do your Job

The queen may be your boss but we own the queen!

Ive stuck up for plod and how they work and it got me 3 points on my lic, a doing over in court by pricks in high chairs cause i got a slow puncture!

i dont think i will ever give an officer any respect as an atority fiqure ever again and will just treat them as an employee.

1 bad experiance with no human approch is what it took to change a person from having a positve look on the law to one who couldnt give a toss about plod and there unhuman approch to the gen public!

There's a particular insanity in today's local paper which says much about the warped priorities.

Our area has shown a rise in violent crimes.

The explanation given for this is that people have been more likely to report them because of the presence of Officers on the streets in a couple of high profile operations.

.... now take this argument to the logical conclusion.

I think you may need a blood pressure check - It's wise to have one every so often ...... if the doctor doesn't think you need it just tell him you pay his wages .......

Always good to hear of a good response for once in a while, no doubt nothing else to do now that the woman had been duly processed for the smartie crime, she did not commit.

Couldnt believe that story when I read it the other day, what a complete bunch of tossers. I liked this one I saw once

Householder calls the plod "There is someone breaking into my garage, can you send someone round quickly"

"Sorry sir, we are awfully busy right now"

Man waits 5 mins, and calls back "No need to send anyone round now, I'v shot the bugger"

Within minutes, there are police cars, choppers, swat teams sourounding the house, the sergent opens the garage door, and theres the burgler in action.

Says to the man "I thought you said you had shot him sir"

"Yes, and I thought you said you were busy"

Or, to put it another way, ROTFLMAO!

I must file this for future reference - it's the best I've heard yet for getting a response.
