Thieving Gets! Sorry to hear that Greg, you mentioned in your email about going for the tree, talk about putting a dampener on it for you!

As suggested pepipoo is your friend....that's if you want to dispute it.

Makes me sick, how can this even hope to be successfully [thinly] veiled as promoting safety?

There's something at the back of my mind along those lines too.

I think its something about when the signs were initially put up - they were put up 100yds early to give people a chance to slow down. Nowadays - as soon as you cross the line - you are fair game...

Can't you send it in a combination of 1p's and cheques for 1p too? It would be more of a ballache for them.

Never thought of it before but that would be a great way. How much does it cost them to cash cheques? Hehehe

Dave,

A sight more than its gonna cost me to write 'em.

Er, wasn't there something about paying too much deliberately? Like, paying £60.05? Or am I wrong?

Did you get caught on the uphill going out of kilsby towards daventry? I saw a scammera van there on the left on sunday morning .. the 30mph seems to extend waaay further than initially yuo expect, but there's a riding stables up on the righthand side so it's 30mph for a reason (rare I know but in this case the extended 30mph does seem justified) ..

However I fully agree with your sentiments about geting caught so close to the 30mph/nsl boundary .. does really seem like they wanted to get as many people as possible knowing that as soon as you've gone past the last bit of life on the edge of the village it's safe to speed up .. it is kinda sucky

i support the enlightened views of the bibs around here to this cr@p.

unfortunately these self serving corrupt scum partnerships exist with the support of the police. until the rank and file make their displeasure known vocally to the chief cops, they will continue to support their political masters. make a stand!

The old radar detector had no distance measurement, so we had to be within 200m (or yards possibly in those days) of the limit to counter any suggestion that the car was outside the limit when the speed was recorded. The laser devices record speed using distance, so the evidence is on the machine to confirm where you were relative to the signs. This means unfortunately that as Sean said, as soon as you are inside the limit you are fair game.

But 36mph!!

Hang your head in shame!

Dont suppose anyone could define the word "Caltrop" for me, could they?

I'm sure I heard someone mentioning that vans tended to park up in the same place all the time, and usually in a place where Joe Public wouldnt normally park, and that word sprang to mind.
Cant seem to see a connection, but

Well, it had to happen sooner or later.

36 in a 30 bleedin' mph limit. Some gimp in a van pointing his camera at me. I was only going for a Christmas tree, FFS.

I wouldn't mind, but this was literally 10 yards away from where the road goes from 30 to NSL - its at Kilsby, for the VMAX-ers who come for breakfast. Seems all of our village has been clobbered by this communist at some point.

60 cheques for a pound to be written to the fascist bullies at Northants "Safety" Camera Partnership. Wankers.

Disgusted of Daventry.
Snap, the missus copped for that at the weekend too. Going to Daventry to see where the Council offices were as she was having an interview for a job there, and we were doing a dry run to see how long it took. Thing is, she was definately only doing 30, but got a nip for 37. We were commenting at the time about how many people they'd catch coming out of Kilsby because a/ they've just come off the A5 and b/ because the NSL signs are a ridiculous distance away.

PS She didn't get the job either. A good week on the run up to Christmas.

Yep, Northants scum got me too, waaaay back in 2000, hidden in a bush he was, twa t.

Turned me against everything scamera, police, partnerships and local councils. I used to be such a helpful Rodent but now you all get zip, nothing, no respect at all.

Bought myself a Road Angel and GPS, just to even it up a bit, if I ever get brave enough a jammers next.

£60, all they have done is make another enemy.

£60 in 1p's sounds like an excellent idea.

What happens if you send the scum £60.05p? I'd like to know

Firstly, unlucky Greg

Secondly, they will probably bank the cheques. You can't however pay in coins, as they are not legal tender if used in great volumes.

If I were you I'd be running the PACE defence and anything else I could think up, to make life difficult for them.

Deffo visit pepipoo and take it all the way. If it does go to court you're likely to get 3pts, £60 fine + £35ish costs. And the scamera parasites get none of it!

PS SafeSpeed is on Talksport now, for anyone who is interested.

Correct. I expect that goes for the ten of thousands of safe drivers with points.

Sadly it brings my experiences with the police to 2 negative to 1 positive...

the other negative one - was punched in the face by a scrote with his gang of mates - I ran 100 metres up the road to safety, called 999 and told them I had been hit in the face and that the guy taht did it was on X road heading towards the centre of town outside kwik save. Handed them an arrest on a plate and instead they told me to go home and didn't send anybody. People can seemingly commit crimes like this and not face any chance of a penalty.

The other one was quite positive - my brother had his jaw broken walking home from school and the police came around that evening. We had pizza in the oven for our dinner and he said "oh, you won't be eating that then" to my brother

perhaphs that's what it is - in my experience individual police officers are generally courteous, polite and helpful... the police force as an organisation is where it seems to go wrong... whether this is because of the "policing strategy" (catch crimiminals?) that is dictated to them or not I don't know.

sorry, wandered a bit off topic.

This (I like to think safe) driver is also infuriated by what's happening to some of you, and that's before I get any points!!

Commiserations Greg. If you choose to fight it I hope you're successful in giving the blighters a hard time.

Best wishes all,
Dave.
