Police to monitor every vehicle journey in UK
Discussion
Just confirms what we already knew, that the powers that be already suspect as all being criminals and terrorists.
The thing is, if everybody is already reckoned to be a terrorist, then whats the problem?
Its a bit like all drivers speeding, we all do it so whats the problem?
The only thing thats likely to be "terrorised" is the government and its backing organisation and theyre just using this as an excuse to clap us all in irons so they can carry on with their decadent lives of luxury.
In a future where freedom is outlawed outlaws will become heroes.

No it didnt but at least it led to detection.
You would be surprised if you knew how many cameras were around the strategic network that you dont see.
At least on this occasion all the pieces seem to have fallen into place, apart from the yellow bellied slag still on the run............................

Prevention is better than the need to pursue punishment. CCTV is no deterrent, it's just a sop to the ignorant who may feel safer.
I agree, 100% with you, but your never going to prevent 100% of the crime, I'll give you an example, i was a real doubter of ANPR, untill i actually saw it working and what it can do, up close and personal, no plod can do what ANPR does if its used properly.

didn't stop her getting killed though Tony
So you'd be happy not having the system and her killers going free ??
I'd be happy not having the system, proper immigration controls and a legal system that doesn't let violent serial criminals loose on society.
Once again we are seeing a symptom being treated at the cost of our liberty and freedom rather than treating the cause.
Cameras seem to be a panacea for sloppy government and cheap policing

Agreed. As usual, this government fails to attack root causes and instead prefers to monitor everyone just in case. (Similar to speed cameras; don't address bad driving, just come up with a simple but expensive and ineffective solution which pi55es of the majority who are entirely blameless.)

Because they removed traffic police and replaced them with cameras - so the scrotes found ways to avoid cameras (cloning, un-registered vehicles etc). So what do the government do? Add more cameras instead. One failed policy superseeded by another one that will also fail. Especially as they will no doubt reduce policing levels further so there will be noone to actually go and catch the scrotes they have caught on camera.

Spend this £42 million (or whatever the true costs are) on real police out on the roads catching these criminals instead.

But dont forget that the killers of the WPC were identified through the use of such systems at opposite sides of the Country.
If we had wanted a common sense point of view we would have asked for it
Still don't like all these bloody surveillance techniques creeping in through the back door though.
