Just finished a 90 minute Skype with MrsNW.

Witness secured (99.9%), we have learned things which frankly belong in some ridiculous fantasy novel. I don't think I should say any more for now because it will go legal. Thanks for all the support and advice, I will update when appropriate.

In local Govt I believe it is almost a requirement to promote the useless.
Have a look here for a possible explanation.

I occasionally have dreams where the 'Peter Principle' is used for HR recruitment, but I keep waking up somewhere else where the duty is given to whoever wanders in off the street, had mental health issues and were too clever for a management role.

I'll consider that one wink

Have to admit working in Munich doesn't help on the emotional support side!

Red Devil, sorry I missed that. The issue would be if there is evidence which is contested. In essence if there is a witness who disagrees with what the witness who does not attend said, whether under oath or not, then it has little value because of a failure to cross examine the absent witness. A witness statement is not "sworn" as such unless and until you actually take the stand.

Hopefully that makes sense.
yes thanks.

So it all depends on whether what has been written down is 'common ground between the parties'.
A phrase which is often to be found in reports of court cases.

MrsNW has asked me to convey her gratitude for all the messages of encouragement and help both here and via PM.

She has today tendered her resignation.

We are now taking legal advice, so until there is an outcome I will not post anything likely to be of detriment to anything that may happen as a result.

Might be worth asking the mods to hide the thread for a while?

I've read this since the beginning but can't believe it's come to this. Some people are aholes.

Good luck with it all!

I can...it seems to me that many of the more dysfunctional publicly funded services are dependant on the fragile ego of middle/senior mangers. Some of course are perfectly good.

Good luck MrsNW

Just to update.

Mrs NW decided against tribunal, the stress she felt would not her already deteriorated health. They paid her 3 month's severance. She already has a new job, back into teaching which is really what she enjoys.

She and I both extend heartfelt thanks to all on here who have proffered perspective, support and advice, it was really appreciated. Special thanks to BV for an excellent solicitor recommendation.

Thanks again - NW

All in all it sounds like a reasonable reasonable compromise. Litigation can be absolute hell. Very glad she's found something she wants to do. Good luck.

Fair enough. Best to move on and more important to be comfortable with the situation than letting it eat up inside.

Best wishes to all and also a thanks for finishing the thread off. So rare these days.

Sounds like a good conclusion in the end. I would say these things happen for a reason and now your better half can move onwards and upwards.
