It's local elections so hopefully one of the parties will get a majority and replace the rainbow council and change it back to how it was and all will be well (apart from the ridiculous waste of money)
Can’t say the liberals or the tories when they’ve had solus control have been any less mental generally than the current rainbow coalition. If anything the rainbow has tempered the nuttiness.Gave the Clevedon cycling infrastructure a go earlier.
The bike lane works quite well and is easy to join and exit. The issue I see is the parking near crossing points. There were two oversized SUV / Vans preventing any visibility of pedestrians. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a few cyclist vs pedestrian accidents where people
are crossing to access the footpath near the sea.
There’s also a one way road (hill road) where it’s two way for cyclists. Had a car pull out on me as they were of course just checking one way.

In shock news I saw a cyclist using the cycle lane yesterday.
Still waiting to see the coffee shops full of cyclists at weekends with bikes strewn all over the place which I was told was the norm. Maybe they were all off cycling elsewhere for Easter.
Would be nice to see some of the 30 cycle stands used. Still waiting to see the coffee shops full of cyclists at weekends with bikes strewn all over the place which I was told was the norm. Maybe they were all off cycling elsewhere for Easter.

I was there last week. People seem to have accepted it mostly, although some of the bays were taken up by works vans upgrading braodband:
Mostly, that is except for matey boy in his new Defender who just dumped his car across the crossway. so he and his fat mate could park right opposite the café.
According to some posters on here there is normally a throng of cyclists using the seafront so you must have waited all day for an opportunity to take a photo with not one in sight.Mostly, that is except for matey boy in his new Defender who just dumped his car across the crossway. so he and his fat mate could park right opposite the café.

I think there is one photo in this thread with a cyclist in it and surprise surprise, he is cycling on the pavement. mcpoot said:

Really. Not at all, it was Thu 27th April, and I was parked up on that stretch for at least 30 mins (10:30 am ish), never saw one. I had a walk round for a bit, quite a few dog walkers on the front. Rain was forecast but didn't arrive until the afternoon, so I mooched around the Weston helicopter museum a while later on. sixor8 said:
