That's unsurprising; it's a sedentary occupation, with long unsocial working hours leading to poor eating habits and many being grossly overweight, unfit and unhealthy, with exposure to all and sundry.

My effin' neighbours!!!

Taken the piss since day 1 of the first lockdown especially during summer with BBQs for mates/family, having daughters (8/9 years old) mates round for play days and oldest daughter (14) having mates round constantly.
During the latest lockdown both daughters are going to school despite the wife not working.
Not sure how they justify this to the school, they may just lie and say wife is critical worker.

They are a nice couple who are friendly and he likes his cars (he treated himself to a Bentley Flying Spur when he retired from the RAF) but it's just their attitude that guidelines/rules don't apply to them that pisses me off.
Especially when I've only seen my parents twice in 10 months and try to be always careful and mindful of not putting myself, family and others in danger.

Rant over

Your neighbours are displaying common sense, and looking after the mental health of their family and friends; you should do likewise.

The last time I chatted with my FiL he was of the opinion that the virus was only being spread by people not following the guidance and if these people would just do as they were asked there would be no more lockdowns, restrictions could be eased and we'd be through this, it was all their fault so they only had themselves to blame for prolonging it. It seems to be a very prevalent belief.
But this is what they want us to believe, otherwise people will think the virus is not spread this way and they'll lose control of the population. They are relying on maybe 90% of the population not questioning the information they are being fed, it's a very impressive pysops exercise.
Why is the virus spreading ? What can I do to stop it? How can I protect myself and my vulnerable loved ones ? I have no option other than to agree with 21st century man's Father in Law - who by the way sounds like a very responsible upstanding citizen, who deserves respect.
So it's not being spread in hospitals, schools, supermarkets or workplaces where people are simply going about their legitimate business and with the best intentions following the guidance ?
Have you been in a supermarket recently? Social distancing is non existent, nor is track and trace. People are not following the guidelines
Yes, around 9pm supermarkets are really quiet

I guess he's probably watching. I'd really like him to post again, his (slightly batty) alternative view was at least amusing, and I'm genuinely interested in his take on things now. Has he changed his view at all, I wonder?

Anything that he got wrong will be down to;

1. The stats are wrong.

2. You're reading them wrong.

3. They're being reported wrong.

4. They don't say what you think they say.

5. Of course THEY WANT you to believe that.

6. The sky is the wrong shade of blue today.

I’d say keep your thoughts to yourself too. He came here posting on topic and you attack.

You’re essentially acting like a conspiracy theorist sheep. And those sheep aren’t led by science.

You’re acting like a big baby. Go back to being scared of a virus which probably won’t kill you and mind your own business about calculated risks which those around you choose to take.

I think the ones that are scared here are the ones that sit here worrying about "control" and their "freedoms" that "government" is taking away.

Normal people are grown up enough to know how to deal with a pandemic and put their efforts into helping this world get over it.

Oh look, another big baby. Most people I know do what’s right for themselves and their family. Probably like this chaps neighbours. If that involves letting the kid having some friends around in the back garden then good on them.

My family’s mental health and sanity is more important than you are to me, people like you aren’t my responsibility. Feel free to keep your distance though.

I wonder how loud the screaming and shouting would be if a relative came down with covid requiring hospital only to be told all the ventilators are already being used because those people also said "fk everyone else, I don't give a st"?

I think we'd probably hear it on here. rolleyes
