You see, I may seem a bit larger than life, but I can't help that, and I started on here with a few posts about how I've gotten away with police stops, the constant barrage of abuse then caused me to make sure I answered you guys. If you want to ignore me or disbelieve me that's fine, but I don't expect the level of bs and animosity that's comes across here, it's supposed to be a car forum.

Still Jacques, I'm happy to meet you, how about somewhere around the mall at cribs causeway, or maybe one of the local car dealerships However, you will need to contact me privately for a time and actual place, I don't want to have to wade through five hundred lookers on to meet with you, my safety and yours would likely depend on it. I might even bother to dig out a few car reg docs/papers of the cars I've had if I can find some, just for you. Course, if you have email, I could scan a few over and you wouldn't have to fuel up the vectra!
Let me repeat myself. I don't care about your cars. I don't care what cars you own, or don't own. They don't impress me. I think you're missing the point of my jokey post, slating my own car.

I (amd everyone else) want some proof of the insurance fraud story you told on here and some proof / explanation of the 25 minute / 120 mile journey. They're the fantasies that you've told and need to cover off.

You've snipped out the whole point of my post. That being my pisstake of my car.

The areas I'd like him to prove are the 25 minutes gap inside 120 miles amd the story about getting a solicitor to cough up, ask him to drop it and then the insurance fraud prosecution. The cars don't make any difference to his fantasy stories.
so are you now expecting, since you've realised I WILL be turning up in a 458 and am over 19, that now you think I'm going to bring a video of the trip from silverstone that I did not record, or that I'm going to provide a total stranger, no matter how nice you may try to be face to face, with private papers or information? Are you for real?

We can meet, you get to see the car and see I haven't nicked it, and if you are friendly we may get a coffee and have a laugh over this Internet bs, but then that's it, I'm not going to be your bestie friend and poke you on Facebook. I have a close circle of people I trust and like, and I very much doubt you will convince me to add you to that.

Sounds to me like the bravado has backfired. Hahaha. Never mind. The offer stands for you, and whether you think it or not, it's a friendly one, nothing I like more than chatting cars to someone.

I regularly take friends and clients to their weddings, special events, children to their proms, in fact I once took a widow to her husbands funeral in an Aston because he was a massive fan, I like to help people have experience with cars that they like, I am a nice chap really, the Internet dumbs us all down to a base 'backwards baseball cap' version of ourselves

You would love my tale about how quickly we got back from Wales to Kent in the late 80's, then. I think your head would mimic that of a certain individual in the film scanners. hehe
It certainly would, he hates it. But he does go 150mph regularly. Like you, before cameras, I remember a trip to Liverpool from Bristol where I arrived an hour earlier than my contact at the other end thought possible, that was a beautiful day! No cops at all, clear motorway, and a fantastic breakfast at the other end in a little old lady run tea shop, cannot remember the name of the village, but it was lovely.

As said earlier, the 80's are long gone and spiffing tales of derringdo flat out for hour after hour are, sadly, consigned to history. Great days, though, where it seemed as if every journey was a race into the unknown. sigh.

Yep, on the whole, it's way less doable than before. Too much traffic, too many cameras, and knobheads that actually try to slow you on purpose. It's still possible to have fun, but you have to pick your moments and recognise the chance you are taking every time you press on. It's a shame, and it's not social progress at all. Driving skills have gone down, not up, with all the safety bs we hear now, how many times do you follow some dumbass at 40 on a single carriageway 60 limit, traffic preventing an ov take, and that 'safe' driver then continues through the 30 limit they enter without even looking up, cross roundabouts and junctions without checking, and then back into the 60 still at 40. Safe my arse!

You seem to be missing the point. I don't care about your cars. I never have and never will. I amd many others called you a bullstter for your stories about the insurance fraud piece and the 25 minute gap, which you continue to fail to provide anything at all of substance to support. Your cars are completely irrelevant. The comment about cars was a clear pisstake of my car, by me to highlight how little we'll have to talk about, as I'll never own any of those cars.

Let's talk theoretically about a bloke called Fred and Jimmy who once upon a time set off from Silverstone together and drove home to the Bristol area. Jimmy arrived 25 mins later In Bristol than Fred. Now as it's probably 90% motorway and the slower one admits to driving as hard as he could at points in a very fast car, then lets say that he averaged 120mph over those those miles, which isn't unreasonable.

That means Fred did an average of 205mph. That's clearly not realistic.

Let's drop Jimmy's speed to 90mph (poor effort if he was maxed out at that speed). Fred still averaged 130mph, still some going.

Which is closer to the truth?

I'll still turn up if you want and I'll keep asking the same questions over and over. I'm not overly keen on listening to you talk about your cars.

You are such a pretentious bloke aren't you. We can meet any time you like, and I'm the one suggesting places, and asking you to confirm privately a time, I haven't heard from you, so who's the guy with issues?

The incident happened, and I was home 25 minutes before him, it's a fact. I'm not going to go into the speeds average or otherwise on an open forum, plod can and do use the Internet these days, even though they don't seem to have to pass an intelligence test in some regions these days. The journey isn't motorway actually, it's mostly a and B roads, and you need to take into account the traffic along the way, which clearly I dispatched far more quickly than he. I think if you suggested he was a slow driver, you would find yourself at thruxton one day strapped into a car ready to get your backside kicked, as he's is pretty handy, the slowdown factor for him, as already noted, was his two year old strapped in the back, limiting his speed and acceleration in traffic to sure things and guaranteed no issue overtakes. He still averaged a fair speed, I'm sure, but it so happens, mine unsurprisingly was higher. We had fuelled, again as already said, as we left the track, I know he had enough because I had paid for it! Hence, he didn't stop anywhere.

Like I said, you contact me, we can meet, but I have no need to validate anything, you either accept it or you don't, I don't care. I suspect you thought 'I'll show him, he hasn't got a Ferrari' as probably happens a fair bit in any car site, this time, however, you have your tail between your legs

What I don't understand is that if you do indeed have such cars, why on earth do you spend all your time on here arguing with people - surely you've got far better things to do?

It's very obvious that the people on here with the seriously expensive cars barely post at all, and I must say, every seriously wealthy person I know simply wouldn't bother getting into a "my car's better than yours" conversation on the internet.

I find it very sad. Sterile even.

It always amused me to do things that were a bit of a talking point.
A few (not many) years back I took a trailer from Limoges to Dresden and then on to the UK to pick up some machine parts. When I checked into the Meisen hotel two hours before the German I was meeting expected, he was somewhat entertained when I told him I'd been doing 120mph at some points with the trailer and pretty much sat at 100 the rest of the time. Fuel economy was awful, and it did bounce about a lot unloaded (much better above 90 loaded). He did make mention of prison/gaol or the like, which I hadn't considered at the time.
It still amuses me overtaking people towing a trailer at 100 odd. Last year I took two motorcycles to France by trailer and tonned it the whole way. At one point one guy I overtook drove like an absolute tool in order to catch me , pull alongside and wave his smartphone at me to indicate that he had recorded me. The irony must have been lost on him, it wasn't me swerving around and cutting people up.

The only people banging on about the cars are the people attacking me, I may mention what I was driving in a post about an incident, but that's just fact, it's not boasting, believe you me, I can do that too, but these guys pick and pick, so sometimes, I give them what they want. If someone accused you of not having the car you had mentioned and made out you were a liar, would you not correct the little moron?

Look, i've asked you once. I'm trying to move a digested large lamb doner round here with nothing to work with but a cup of millionaire's coffee and a bit of wheat grass. I'm getting noises from my colon that sound like someone moving furniture downstairs and mr's vince is sat across the bed with a face like someone who's defending herself with a lawn dart while i sing motherf**ker by the dwarves at full volume.

KEEP IT DOWN.

If I had the money to afford such cars, and the lifestyle that went with it, I honestly wouldn't care or bother correcting them, I'd just sit back, safe in the knowledge I was having a vastly better time than they were. If I was really, really bored, I might go outside with a tin of custard and post a picture but even that would be a stretch.

I don't live anywhere near Bristol and can't remember ever going anywhere near the place for over a decade.

I have never questioned your car ownership. You have a Ferrari, good for you. I have questioned your stories that are both too far fetched to be from the pages of Walter Mitty, yet you continue to blather on about them and now profess to be Public Enemy No. 1.

You're a bit of a tool. A tool with a very nice car. Now others are challenging your car ownership and that's easy to prove them wrong. At least you'll prove one of three ongoing discussions

You must have reading issues. No one questioned your ownership of a 458 ffs. It's all the other bull stories. Your mate must have been stuck behind a tractor for ages for your story to be true!
