Of course there are loads of times I believe I've been wasting my breath, as the people will no doubt be prosecuted many times again for the same things or I'll see them being zipped up in a body bag soon.)

I give the safety lecture to explain the reason why they have been stopped and the particular dangers with the speed at that time or place. Rather than "you were speeding, there's your ticket", I like the punter to know exactly why I've chosen to stop them etc.

After all, I see my job as increasing road safety not just revenue...regardless of the opinions of some people..
