Well he was "allegedly speeding" with no number plates, so no valid insurance, in a small village with a narrow street. Would you fancy scraping your kid up off the road after he'd hit them, then finding out the tt had no insurance?
How do you draw the conclusion "so no valid insurance"?Another biker here, and previous green-laner. If what you saw leads you to believe this was a MotoX bike being ridden on the roads, (i.e. no lights, no number plate etc) then report it. It may be that the guy gets a visit, and him, and his bike is legitimate, is MOT'd, no lights required, and his number plate had fallen off on his ride. If he is legit, he won't mind the enquiry.
The fact he was loading it into a van suggests that is unlikely though - if he was riding on a mates land, he would probably have parked by his mates land. He may not even have a licence for the road.
Remember that even for green-laning your bike needs to be legal. As said above, these folks don't make it easy for legal bikers to use the lanes, and they are better off having their bikes removed, rather than causing trouble for those that are trying to share the lanes with the ramblers and horsey folk.

It doesn't, but having known and been part of a group of lads who rode bikes offroad (and occasionally on road!) in my youth, none of us had licenses, tax, MOTs, insurance etc and yes I did get caught by the Police and received a rightly deserved caution.
Loads of lads around us do it, they tear all of the woodland tracks ( our land backs onto 3,000 acres of woodland ) I've no problem at all with it, boys will be boys, he just needs a bking IMO for bringing it into the village is all. Devil2575 said:

To increase our sample size to two, I've got a road legal MX bike. You'd struggle to see the plate though and in all other aspects it is a full on MX bike. It's MOTd, insured and taxed though. LoonR1 said:

Jesus, put down the pitchforks and pack away the village idiot. He was joking.
And you know this because no one has ever done it before? Or because he used emoticons to indicate a joke when he posted it?st happens! Slightly off topic, but very relevant. A local idiot on a quad bike thought wheelies in our estate would impress the local 'girlies', and improve his pulling power. A few older concerned locals who saw it thought it might all end in tear, and suggested to him that he be a bit more responsible. Fell on deaf ears. A few weeks later, he did his wheelie trick, the quad bike swerved left, and he head butted a lamppost, sans helmet. Now a vegetable in hospital.

Hopefully got done for dangerous driving but certainly didn't see him again

The guy is asking for opinions on if he should report something
I've got a fairly strong opinion that he should not, what is wrong with voicing that opinion?
or should we all circle jerk around saying yes yes think of the children, and report the crime pretending we never brake the rules.
It shouldn't need explaining, but there are degrees of breaking the law. Somebody using an uninsured, untaxed, unregistered vehicle with no MOT deserves to be reported, especially if they are driving like a tt.I've got a fairly strong opinion that he should not, what is wrong with voicing that opinion?
