Tbh, it seems most insurers treat SAC the same as points now anyway (never used to have to declare the SAC bust most ask now). I'd just take the points and avoid having to do the course I think.
More bullstLet's see your evidence of this. I'll give you Admiral and their brands, bell, elephant, Gladiator. Now show me more anyone of the big players will do to support your argument. No price comparison websites though, just insurers.

Also you either get 3 points and a £100 fine or a speed awareness course that costs £85.
You do not get a speed awareness course and a fine.
Jeez, some pedants on here today. You do not get a speed awareness course and a fine.
The cost (read fine) of a SAC varies by region, I paid a £100 "fine" for mine. Now go back to your homework, along with the other custard tosspots.

Thanks for the info, it was in Hants so looks like its points.
I work for hantpol. Unfortunately it will be points. You're a proper wibblist aren't you.

Yes, because the cash just gets handed over to them
Of course it does. Most counties now run them in several locations - in Staffs, which I'm familiar with, they're running them in 5 locations, 6 days a week morning and afternoon, and evening in some locations.
So they've got to keep the candidates rolling in - someone who's over the threshold is a disaster.

PC Trafpol pulls over a speeder and thinks, "you know what. Sod the truth, I'm going to write this and every form out as an SAC speed instead, because I've got that power and then all the money is handed straight to my old, now retired, partner, Stevie A Course"
How have you managed to live this long with such a poor view of the world?

If they really just wanted you to hand over your money, they would make it 9-5 mon to fri without exception, and if you missed it would increase the fine.

Yes...mornings, afternoons, evenings, 6 days a week, all over the place. It's ALMOST as if they're trying to make it more accessible for people? (Sorry if this doesn't sit well with your skewed view of the SAC system).

No, that wouldn't work because they don't get to keep the money from fixed penalties or fines anymore. If they really just wanted you to hand over your money, they would make it 9-5 mon to fri without exception, and if you missed it would increase the fine.

The done thing is to provide proof, as others have posted the same, but without any evidence

Be fair, SAC is an industry now, established and profitable. 12 people at £100 a time. Twice a day, 3 days a week. Compulsory, non flexible attendance would have the punters taking points, and impact the bottom line, bad for business. Beats dealing with criminals and adds a few grand to the pension. If they really just wanted you to hand over your money, they would make it 9-5 mon to fri without exception, and if you missed it would increase the fine.
They ought to extend the scheme to other crimes. Burglary awareness courses for the small time thieves?

I got done in Towcester for doing 34mph in a 30mph zone
I have NEVER EVER seen on here solid evidence of a speeding offence NIP stating anything less than 35 mph in a30 limit, and i dont think anyone else has, despite all the claims ( two on this thread) of them being done.Thre has been claims of 31-34 mph but nothing has ever been posted. My one was for 35 in a 30 and that is the minimum they will do you for, anything less is just pub talk. Put up a photo of th NIP and i will donate £10.00 to a charity of you choice..... Oh you have thrown the paperwork away???????

As I said earlier - same position. Loads of people claim, but evidence hard to come by.Thre has been claims of 31-34 mph but nothing has ever been posted. I'll match that pledge.

This makes no sense at all. If SACs didn't exist then it'd be 3 points and £100 fine. You still have the option to take the points. They ought to extend the scheme to other crimes. Burglary awareness courses for the small time thieves?
Or are you naive enough to think that if there were no SACs all of a sudden you'd get away with it?
