Well, it had to happen sooner or later.

36 in a 30 bleedin' mph limit.

You may be given an opportunity for one of those "speed awareness" courses in lieu of points.

A friend of mine was recently done at 36mph (on a stretch of road which has been 40 limit for years ..... recently changed to 30 by Bucks CC )....

He was advised :

35 mph : no ticket

36 mph : you can go on a course

37mph + : compulsory 3 points , no option for course !!!

What a ridiculous set-up ! he ended up on a course where everyone had done exactly 36mph - 1mph faster and I guess you are deemed beyond redemption Bucks C.C ..... Tossers !

Question, were you 10yds from the NSL leaving the 30mph zone or had you driven through all but 10yds of the 30 zone ?

As usual, to increase safety within the 30mph zone, the scamera was on the WAY OUT of the village. I don't think I can't recall ever seeing a mobile camera policing the speed limit on entry to a it.

Snap, the missus copped for that at the weekend too. Going to Daventry to see where the Council offices were as she was having an interview for a job there, and we were doing a dry run to see how long it took. Thing is, she was definately only doing 30, but got a nip for 37. We were commenting at the time about how many people they'd catch coming out of Kilsby because a/ they've just come off the A5 and b/ because the NSL signs are a ridiculous distance away.

PS She didn't get the job either. A good week on the run up to Christmas.

Sorry to hear that, victor.

Still weighing up my options, in all fairness. I looked again at where the van could have been parked, and I can't honestly see exactly where it could park entirely off the road to be able to set up correctly. Unlike the approach from DIRFT, where some idiot resident has let the barstards park on their driveway! Maybe I'll get time to have a proper look.

I just remember remarking to Susie (g/f) at the time "That'll be a letter in the post.". I mean, you get out of the village and you speed up - the NSL can't be that far up the road (its after the Ridgeway turning on the right towards Barby).

Good job I wasn't in the SL, otherwise I'd have been over 40 easily.

Make sure you check the dates.

You have to receive the letter no later than 14 days from the incident or all bets are off.

Thats the LAW mate.

Ill talk to you tomorrow at work....with a hang over....
