interesting stuff here - have 'discussed' this with nonegreen in the past

Im not sure if you think Im one of the 'take the rap' brigade Carl? cos I certainly recommend it a fair bit....

I'm definitely not anything approaching plod or law ( in fact rather further away than the majority I would guess)....I just think that a reality check is important, and I think that the stuff that Jaydee write here was absolutely spot on - though also agree with a fair bit that None said. In my honest view, there are always lots of things you *could* do to get away with things, but all of them (unles you really are innocent) are pushing legality to their very limits - in which case it has to be a decision made by the individual - not pushed for by some people on here...the reason being that some people are very good at 'scams' and some arent. I would feel very bad if someone on here looking for ADVICE ended up in a worse spot cos of something I had recommended which I knew to be dodgy.

I dont *think* this forum is here to lobby government or change the rules - its to discuss then, and how to help and advise like-minded people - in the same way John Robson does for us.

Its all good fun anyway!! and looking at the advice offered by None to Hardcore, I would say you've mellowed a bit too

Night,
don't think it was you who I was refering to actually, but point taken. I just think that the traffic laws we have in this country are a bit stupid, and have trouble conforming to them as a result. As I am sure the rest of you do? - hence my question on another thread about "reasonable speed". I needed to know if I was being judged by a panel of PH readers, if my speeds are excessive !!!! I am also prepared to moderate my speed inline with the rest of my peers...

rgds, Carl

Further to the "say someone else was driving" line of defence... It is one of the better ways to get the prosecution discontinued, however in early 2001, the Perverting the Course of Justice situation arose. Young lad with fast car and 9 points (yes, 3 SP30 speeders, suprise, suprise) gets caught on Gatso. Being a clever lad, he had insured the car in his Mums name, to save several quid. So when the NIP arrived, he and Mum agreed to say Mum was driving. However, lad was 6ft3" and Mum 5'3" and the photos clearly showed the driver with his head touching the roof. Arrest and prosecution followed, lad got fined and banned, Mum got 6 months HMP.
One tip which could work along these lines... Remove your number plates. Then call Plod the following morning to report a Theft from Motor Vehicle. He will ask the usual questions, tell you there is not a lot he can do, and he will make a crime report, and you will be sent a crime number. Then, when you get your NIP.. Couldn't have been my car, I was nowhere near Wherever that day. Hang on, I had my number plates stolen a while back, I've got the Crime Number.
Just don't have distinctive big exhausts, blacked windows, spoilers or other "I am a w*nker" Maxpoweresque crap bolted to your car.

Johnson , it is a good idea to send for the pictures first. Occasionally they will have been lost and the case collapses due to no evidence. At least you have some clue as to how its going to go though.
