My good God, what a pile of unmitigated tripe.
Exactly Crazy that the above drivel is the tip of the iceberg for utter nonsense personal opinion across the nation
Had cause to stop at a motorway services yesterday and was appalled at how few were wearing masks
Accepting that there are legitimate and genuine medical reasons why a tiny percentage cannot wear masks, the utter recklessness of a large number is disgusting

PistonHeads is shot through with constant examples of people trying to wriggle out of their responsibilities under the law, like the word 'Blackpool' in a stick of rock.
"Boo-hoo. I'm being 'persecuted' for ignoring the speed limit. How can I get off the charge despite being bang-to-rights guilty of an absolute offence?" And countless other crap.
Now, all of a sudden, "the law" and "the rules" are of paramount importance, and we must all bow down before our leaders and obey their every last utterance.
"Foundations of a civilised society" my hairy butt-cheeks... How do you work that out? I've had nothing but hassle on the roads lately. Mainly with law-breaking Muppets completely ignoring Statutory Signs and road markings, pulling out of junctions and blocking the road, forming little convoys so that they get away with not giving way at Defined Priority Width Restrictions. I even had one woman take a photo of ME because I had the brass neck to stop her charging through under a narrow railway bridge when the FAT WHITE ARROW was on MY side, and the GIVE WAY instruction was on hers. DESPITE me sounding my horn at the FOUR preceding cars who'd all ignored a simple STATUTORY instruction. But hey, road safety laws are just a "cash cow" there to "persecute" "innocent" motorists eh? Whereas mask-wearing laws, based on nothing but guesswork about efficacy, are really, really, really important and WILL save COUNTLESS THOUSANDS of lives. If you believe the flawed modelling coming out of Downing Street, at least.
After those pictures at the G7 barbecue, I'm disinclined to further acquiesce to any more Boris Bullst. I am now fully convinced that very little of the action that our Glorious Leader has taken has had a direct effect on reducing infections. I strongly suspect that this is just the natural ebb and flow of a virus, doing the things that viruses do.
Masks? Probably about as useful as jamming pencils up our noses and wearing our underpants on our heads. At least that way we'd probably get a lot more (anti)social distance afforded to us when out and about...
Wibble!
It would seem that no one below your post took on board the points you are making at all. But I have, and I like it :-)PistonHeads is shot through with constant examples of people trying to wriggle out of their responsibilities under the law, like the word 'Blackpool' in a stick of rock.

Give it a break. No one in here needs any credibility when it comes to masks, it's the law. Fortunately even when we disagree with the law most people do the right thing and follow it, it's the foundations of a civilised society.
If you are trying to be involved in an educated discusion, and try to make people agree with you, credibility is absolutely what you need.Calling people names is pretty much waving an "Ignore me" flag.
I won't "give it a break" when discussing something I believe in, even if you clearly disagree and want me to stop discussing it. That's not how it works.

Good, these pointless nonsensical rules need to be ignored. It’s not cannot wear masks, it will not. I count myself among them.Accepting that there are legitimate and genuine medical reasons why a tiny percentage cannot wear masks, the utter recklessness of a large number is disgusting
Waiting for the inevitable and irrelevant insults.

This pretty much
The mask rule was dropped last month at work, wearing one for 12 fricking hours at a time is horrible about 3 minutes in & I'd want to rip the thing of my face
It was made optional cue about 99.9% not wearing one, no one's dead, no one's got sick & nothing has happened though one fella turned purple but that could be unrelated

What about those of us that aren't vaccinnated yet?
You understand that wearing a mask isn't just about protecting yourself, yes? It's about protecting others?
LOL maybe they need to take responsibility for themselves? Just a thought. You understand that wearing a mask isn't just about protecting yourself, yes? It's about protecting others?
Hang on, I dont wear a mask nor have I had a "vaccination". Maybe I can catch the covids off myself? Now theres something not to be worried about.
Masks are supposed to principally reduce your transmission of it to other people, and also yourself - but to a lesser extent, the idea being that you wear one to protect others, and others wear one to protect you.
Of course, its function is a perfect example of people not being prepared to make the slightest of sacrifices to help others. As a social experiment (if it were one, which it isn't) it's quite illuminating, and quite depressing.
