Our doctors surgery doesn't require masks and hasnt for a long while.
The daft screens were removed immediately same for the pharmacy.
Our village shop never bothered trying to enforce masks either.
The whole thing was a farce..
Remember the "Covidiots" who didn't join in the mask wearing frenzy?

Turns out it wasn't them that were the idiots...

The screens in shops were hilarious, put your goods on the belt ,the cashier handles everything and hands them back to you but it’s all ok because there is a screen….mad

That’s a good point, those daft screens seem to be a lot more resistant to departing our lives that than the daft masks were? Most places I can think of immediately still have them?

I went back to a private hospital on Saturday morning and they were still requesting hand sanitisation, mask or visor wearing and getting people to sign a covid disclaimer. All the reception staff and medics were masked up. This was in East Grinstead. I'll try and pop into the NHS bit if I get a chance and see if anything has changed in there.

The majority of shops still have people working from behind a screen but unmasked.

I imagine it's more to do with the cost of removal and disposal / storage, than any particular desire to keep them.

Yep and they are causing no issue being up.

Apart from causing a bottle of red to go flying and smash as the Aldi quarter back passed it through the gap, and missed....in a lot of cases they are a pain in the arse.

It doesn't really bother me with the screens but then again, considering the state of society theses days, the staff probably would rather keep them in place regardless to add that extra layer of 'protection'.

To be fair, if I was working the tills I probably wouldn't mind that layer of separation, even if it offers zero protection from any sort of infectious disease.

They will likely fade away over time as they need maintenance. Genuine issue at Aldi near me though where they've created a letter box size hole to launch things through.

I find them a little offensive now. like I'm a dirty customer. Nothing more than that though. In know its not their fault. Our government forced them to all spend a fortune on them, flip flopped with rules, and now I can understand they don't want to take them down in case they are told to put them back up again (regardless of how unlikely that now is).

Covid could kill some poor buggers in there. If it reduced the chance by 1% it’s worth it.
So could a cold, flu, diptheria, HIV, measles etc etc etc. Everyone should be stopped from going in at all, unless a patient. That would eliminate the risk of bringing in an infection by 100%.

See how your 1% is not really very sound logic.?

It's the same logic that says we should all go out in masks for ever more.
But wearing a mask or washing your hands is not comparable to being "stopped from going in at all" and encouraging basic hygiene also helps reduce the spread of an awful lot more than just COVID.

If you're trying to find a logical fallacy in someone else's proposition, best not to deploy a massive one yourself.

I'm wondering if the staff have asked for the screens to stay. My local Tesco has them at tills still, and they're extensive enough that it would be hard for an awkward/angry/violent customer to get around the screen to invade the space of the till operator. It'd be interesting to see figures for customer aggression and assault before and after installation of the screens. My local fuel station has kept theirs too. It makes it hard for me to communicate as I'm hard of hearing, so I sometimes end up with my "good ear" up against the gap in the screen where the card reader is. It means they can keep high value items out of easy reach of scrotes without necessarily having to keep them locked away. I suspect these are one Covid measure that will stay in place but for reasons other than infection control...

I could be misremembering but I'm pretty sure our local Shell had the screens on well before COVID (for security reasons)

You have completely missed the point. Even 1% of it.

My Doctors Surgery still insists on masks, they have a box of them on the counter, screen has a gap of around 6" at the bottom. They are a lot better than the generic ones available for sale in the supermarkets in that the ear loops are wider and stronger. No antibacterial hand gel though and they've put back the touch screen where you book yourself in! Rather defeats the object of the masks wobble I got Covid a fortnight after having the jab and it still laid me out! Dread to think what it would have done without the jab as I have COPD from years of smokin2! My own fault there obviously.

You could tell them you’re exempt, they have to accept your say do.

Did you have Covid before the vax ,if not you’ll never know how you would have reacted as much as the MSM and Dr Killary tell you..
