For what purpose? No speed limits will be raised up from 20 back to 30 no matter what anyone says.

This whole excersise is just to deflect the blame and attention on to councils and away from where it really should be.
Ah the old "do nothing and complain when nothing happens".

Remind me how well attended these anti-20 protests have been? Did they reach a dozen?
Predicatable response.

Its done. Its implemented. Its not going to be undone. Objective achieved. Life is just that more difficult for everybody. Tick in the box. Move on to the next attack on the citizens.

Why would any sane person waste time on this, when the purpose of it is a clear as day, and the outcome will be no change?

You do know that dont you?

Oh, wait, sorry, forgot you were the WG spokesperson, so you wont be able to admit that.Even though you know it just like everyone else does.

So nearly half a million 'people' signed a petition after the law was passed, and the Senedd was crucified for ignoring it (despite the owner of said petition not closing it early), but sending an email to your highway dept with your complaints is a waste of time?

The democracy we have is the democracy we deserve, clearly laugh

Are you seriously suggesting that writing to the highways department is anything other than a waste of time. I mean, seriously?

You always sidestep any directquestions dont you. How about you answer this one. Honestly too would be good. Go on, try!

As for democaracy? As Drakeford himself said, "i decide what happens in wales". A good summary of why we are where we are.

Engage in the process. Humans make mistakes. We know from travelling county to county that implementation has been different. Give it a go, or just sulk in the corner how democracy doesn't work for you?

Err yeah, in context of BoJo trying to muscle in on devolved matters. Context, get some. laugh

You still havent answerd the question (surprise) . Do you believe that writing to highways is anything other than a complete waste of time? Yes or no?

If no, can we conclude that you believe that some speed limits will be changed as a consequence. Again, yes or no.

You should write to your Highways dept, yes. That's why I posted the link. Yes, I think some limits will change and boundaries move.

I'm not sure I could have been any clearer? Perhaps let the red haze clear before you read my posts again.

Again, you didnt answer the question. I specifically asked if you believe writing is a waste of time? You sidestepped that and just say i should write.

As for changing limits, if you believe that, then so be it. I dont. Its that simple.

There is zero possibility of any increases in speed limits. It just isnt going to happen. Id have thought that was obvious to everyone. But i guess some people will fall for it.

The current exercise is purely a blame shifting exercise. How you cant see it for what it is, i dont kow either.

I'm great thanks! Just writing to the trunk roads agency for a 20 mph limit from Magor to Hendy. How are you? Got bored of being outed as a bigot in the other thread? laugh

Exactly... Don't hold your breath.

We're still waiting for details of the Conservatives voting the policy beyond the initial consultation.

Half a million people signing the petition should be enough. The Sennedd are just trying make things as difficult as possible to change things by asking people to again write or engage with the local authorities. Another hoop for people to jump through, then there'll be another. They know that each hoop will result in less people engaging.

If half a million people can't change anything, then another written response won't either.

Who voted for more MS members? oh yes, the MS members. Stuff that has that much of an impact on the people of wales, and you can include the speed limit change in that, should be a referendum. As for the extra members, the people should be able to vote for, against and also to abolish the sennedd. I'd really like to see how that vote on that one?

Can you point to the history of referendums in the UK? And then list 20 mph limit alongside laugh

The first hoop was back in 2021 when Labour were voted in on a manifesto including a 20 mph limit.
The second hoop was the public consultations in April 2023, where you could provide comment the first time.
Only months after that did many of you suddenly discover a petition laugh

Maybe not to you, but very relevant round here, and a topic we care about.
