Man being chased by police - should you help?
Discussion
I suppose its easy to answer the question when you're sitting safely behind your PC with plenty time to think it through. The sensible option would be to not get involved, and hopefully thats the one I'd take if I was in that position.
You've no idea of the circumstances. Maybe he's about to get a life sentence, maybe he's got a gun on him. So he doesn't exactly have much to lose does he? Or maybe he's going to get a few years prison, and maybe he'll come looking for you when he gets out. Or maybe his friends will come looking for you next week. Or maybe you'll accidentally get a broken leg trying to tackle him.
The smart money is on staying the hell out of the way, and let the police do their job.

How about if a cop was taking a kicking ?
Would you help or just get your jollies recording it ?
I'll record it and provide it if they need it as evidence. Would you help or just get your jollies recording it ?
I am unable to intervene when a citizen is taking a kicking (e.g. Tomlinson) from the police so why should I intervene when its the copper at the other end of the kicking?

Okay you've all had your fun. Back on topic now.
Still wouldnt help a policeman apprehend a suspect. I would record the police arresting someone though just so everything is done above board.

Before 2 of my close family became police officers, the answer would have been no either way. Maybe I'd have helped if it were a woman cop getting a kicking... thats about it

And the daft thing is, it's not really helping the police, it's helping the victim.
The man running could be:1. Illegal immigrant
2. A rough sleeper
3. Completely innocent - like the man in this video http://youtu.be/9llvTQn8v-c
There wont always be a victim

Sadly you wont get a link as no such thing happened. Not usual for a corrupt copper to embelish.
Oh I'm corrupt now am I? You posted how some lunatic crazed mad man made a threat towards your life....In reality some bloke tapped a window. The way you were banging on about it the guy put a knife to your throat.
Carry on though your painting yourself in a really favourable light.

What a scummy person you are.No doubt first in line to ask for help when something goes wrong though.Or would that be a sweeping judgement, based on little knowledge?Eclassy said:

Would you exaggerate the alleged content of said video Still wouldnt help a policeman apprehend a suspect. I would record the police arresting someone though just so everything is done above board.
Or would you tell it like it really was?
