You do realise that if somebody wanted to pretend that they were the police to scam you for a fictional speeding ticket - they wouldn't actually need to go to the trouble of parking a fake mobile speed van somewhere?

I see a system of streetlights, which would show it's a 30mph road unless there is signage to tell me otherwise.

Also the blue cameras are made by a company called Watchman, I don't believe there were ever approved for enforcement.

I think you are clutching at straws to be honest. If you feel you have a case take it to court and argue it. However before you do that it might be worth getting so proper advice rather than accepting what random people on the internet say.

There are a few on here who are not random, maybe they could give you some accurate guidance. Some already have.

I do not include me in that by the way wink

I give up, you want to be spoon fed, when people tell you the answer, you ignore it because its not what you want to hear!

Hi Davek as i called 101 police and give number plate number and she hold me a moment and ask the sergeant and confirm its not a police VAN. Letter and website says its a police. So if you are in my place you would believe police on the phone or letter received by them? Its a so much confusing here and someone is lying. I cannot proof my speed but i can proof someone is lying in here. I dont know its usefull for me or not.
Also i am %100 sure wasnt speed 41 because i am using twice this road and know where they are.
Do you understand that enforcement of speed limits is not always undertaken by the police? Sometimes it's carried out by a partnership that includes the police and the evidence they collect is passed on to the police for action.

This is why it may not have been a police van but the letter was sent by the police.

What about this? Is there speed camera since who knows but completely DARK BLUE? Also far as i know trap speed camera against the law as well ?

In 2001 the law was changed so that speed cameras had to be painted yellow to ensure visibility. ... cameras must be visible from 60m away in 40mph or less zones and 100m for all other speed limit zones. signs must only be placed in areas where camera housings are located or where mobile cameras are in operation.
Apparently you missed the law change in 2007 that reversed that one. No requirement for them to be yellow, or visible, or be near signs since December 2007.

Judging by his posts I would hazard a guess the OP has never been anywhere near a school.

Well, maybe not a school in which English is the primary language of instruction. He certainly has not been to Charm School.

So let’s get this straight.

You’ve been caught speeding by a fixed mobile camera, not in a van parked in a lay-by. It’s not operated by the police or the council but Greater Manchester Police have sent you the NIP?

You don’t think you were speeding, because you know this camera is there, but you do drive by speed cameras at 40 in a 30 regularly.

You don’t like the colour blue and think cameras should be yellow.

I reckon you’ve got a good defence, plead not guilty and go to court with your evidence as above.

Let us know how you get on.
I think he would have a better chance pleading insanity

Also the website they supply for proof of picture , its not working, when i type date, reference number and pin number they give , system says not found it !

My point is not my speed , its not police car, council not sending there, far as i know there is licence has been taken from police or council , how they can send me fine,

NO camera sign
Fixed Camera is blue according to LAW 2001 all speed cameras must be YELLOW,
Again according to law they can place only under the yellow fixed cameras or clear camera sign between FAIR distance which is NOT

So what can i do for that?

Thanks
In Holland they hide them in litter bins perhaps that will help your defence.

Methinks the Blue Camera the OP keeps refering to could be a traffic monitoring Camera (TrafficMaster?) Probably why it didn't show up on his search.

It's not been tested but in theory a caught can exclude any evidence that has been unfairly obtained. That could definitely include where a code of practice has been breached. But the court does not have too. They have to weigh up whether the probative value outweighs the prejudice.
Even more of a stretch would be to revisit the whole self incrimination if codes of practice are not complied with as the original HR finding was based on proportionality.....
Personally I would pay up or be more careful in the first place..
There is no code of practice for speed cameras.
There is guidance. It doesn’t have to be followed.
The cameras can be any colour but for some reason yellow is the preferred colour.

I still think he has a good case. Maybe he needs a good barista to help him present his defence.

Or at least help him to wake up and smell the coffee......... wink
