Let’s keep slowing economy and ‘saving lives’ if in the long run it helps us tighten down on the hand outs we give in benefits. Win win.

And why do you think that, given the opinion of the scientific community? (Genuine question)
Because the scientific community say that the current case level is overstated by a factor of 10 due to the amount of false positives. 1000s of ‘cases’ a day are not actually positive for covid at all.
Politicians including grant shapps and Matt Hancock have stated on camera they don’t understand what false positives are. The country is being locked down due to inaccurate testing. This isn’t my theory as I’m not an expert, the experts are saying it, just look into it yourself. Here’s a link to start you off.

But you can't go to your GP because they seem to think they are too precious to actually see patients!

If the pandemic has highlighted one thing it is that GPs are only of any use to get a referral to a specialist - assuming you can get through to the receptionist who will then go out of their way to prevent you contacting a GP.

Might as well cut out the middleman and go to A & E!

So fo all these people that dont want wear masks etc.. A real life story,...

My Mrs has a friend who was careful and practiced social distancing. Unfortunately her husband caught it and brought into the house. This twenty something was super fit, no real health issues. Then she caught Covid.

What a lot of people dont realise is that it a lot of illnesses that are normally supressed with a healthy immune system are allowed to flair up whilst the body is trying to fight Covid. She had a minor case of HS - https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/hidradenitis-suppura...

Fast forward a month later and although she over the Covid itself, other subdued illnesses flaired up. She now walks with a pair of crutches and will be for months if not years. On top of that, her lady parts where that badly damaged by HS that flaired up that she is having to have reconstructive surgery on it.

I tell this not for the titilation factor but its not just about deaths, its about the people who are ill and are very unlikely to ever recover fully post Covid. She has gone from a sports mad woman to virtually housebound. She wont be back to work for a long, long time.

Imagine how you would feel if you brought it in (by being a plonker and not even trying to avoid it) and did this to your Mrs?

Wow,

Sorry to hear that.

You can still contact your GP as usual. If he/she thinks you need to be seen face to face then that is what they will do.

The ignorance of a number of elements (stats, the reality of the virus traits, the unknown lasting consequences and what levels of health access are available) on this thread is truly unbelievable ... if ever there was proof needed that more than half the public are of lower than average intelligence, its right here.

Are you going to self isolate for 14 days ?
Can we grass on you ?
I was on a table outside, a fair distance from his table. Ergo I was doing as asked.

You have to look at this in a balanced way.

What if the Government said 'Eh, it's just a virus. No difference from ones we have seen before. Just carry on like normal and we will see in a couple of months if it has made any significant impact' Would the death rate be any different? Or did a lockdown actually save more life's then if we didn't bother?

The lockdown has just pushed it further down the road. We would have beenisolating the vulnerable and letting everyone else get on with it over summer.

Now winter is coming with the rest of the respiratory infections along with it has just made it worse.

Yes some people die and some fit people get it but fking the whole country for a tiny % of deaths not everyone can live for ever people die.

Imagine the outcry if the Gvt's around the world did nothing and allowed this thing to run loose.

They would be accused of being incompetent, uncaring, out of their depth, planning for the big reset by doing nothing, blinded by the science, acting only in their own interests, blitzing the economy because nobody would dare step outside because nothing was being done to protect them, should have built more hospitals to cope with the demand instead of allowing the NHS to be overrun.

Sort of business as normal then.

Go ahead, if you believe this load of bks.

307 people under 60 have died up to 10 September in England, with around 1000 over 60. More people die from 'flu, this is a non event.

Source...NHS website.
Unless you have a close friend or relative that has died you ####
Sorry for your loss but Everyone dies.
We could save 27,820 deaths or serious injuries every year if we all drove at 5mph all the time but we don’t as it’s not reasonable.
Our response should be reasonable. Shutting down the economy every time a few people die is not reasonable.
Sorry but that is the truth.
That would truly amazing, only a one big issue in 2019 only 1748 deaths reported due car accidents. So Covid kills more many more per year.

Every life has meaning and we don't just roll over and let flu kill the vulnerable, we have flu vaccine and treatments. My father in law had flu at Christmas and the NHS did a great job of saving his life. Flu kills around .1% of those that catch it and COVID 3-4% so it warrants the attention. Sweden done nothing and with it tiny 10M population has managed to kill nearly as many people as we have per 1m truly bad and nothing to crow about. We seam to now be on parr with Europe and if we all work on it together we manage this until we can get vaccines out.

Putting it simply so you can understand it COVID 41,788+ vs Car 1748 vs Flu 30,000~

Japan is a success story.

They never had a lockdown, and citizens were only told to wear masks. Yet, there number of cases has dropped dramatically.
