In the last few pages, the OP has been accused of

Lying
Embellishing his story
Using his family’s disabilities as an excuse

Whether those accusations are true or not, you can’t blame him for not commenting…..

Indeed. This thread is demonstrating the disgusting side of some of the posters.
Like a pack of bullies descending. Awful behaviour.

I'm sure that people would not make such comments face to face, but it seems to be allowed on an anonymous internet forum.

Certainly would not be tolerated in a workplace.

I haven’t read anything here that’s awful. Just people thinking that 2.5hrs is a reasonable time allowed for any visit to McDonald’s

There’s been lots of useful advice offered suggesting contact with PE is likely to have the fine cancelled, they have cancelled three separate fines I received after I contacted them with explanations

Their website where you go to pay your ticket has an option for disputing it, and allows you to upload documents/photos etc, that’s what I used to get mine cancelled

The OP has been accused of:
Lying/embellishment
Playing the disability card
Being “council”
Amateur detectives trying to disprove his post etc

There has been some useful advice, amongst some quite unsavoury behaviour.

Other opinions are available.
This particular section of the forum used to be nicer…

Just sayin!
McDonalds - Check
Birthday party in McDonalds - Check
Disability - Check
Mobility car - Check
Fines & Courts - Check

Just missing the Daily Mail ‘Compo’ face.
For it to qualify for the DM, the value of the OP's property would be needed.

I’m forming the opinion that unless forums like this start insisting contributors display a real, verified identity then they are finished, in the long term. Forums get over-run with trolls/bots/etc, normal people stop visiting and the value of the forum collapses.

I disagree. With any story such as this one you have to be open minded and see it from both sides and consider that maybe things might not be as they seem. After all the OP said in his first post that the restaurant was busy, and also not busy.

Yes the OP could be absolutely right about there being no parking signs, or he could now be kicking himself for not seeing them. It's natural to be cautious that the OP's account may not be accurate, in which case it reads of a 'Daily Mail woe is me' story. However, if there really were no signs in the car park then the OP is right to be annoyed at being fined.

However as has been posted numerous times, by myself and others, that if the OP follows the dispute process on the PE email/website he will most likely have the fine cancelled. The OP appears not to have does this.

I got some PE fines for overstaying in a car park and I hadn't noticed any signs, I could have sworn there weren't any. But when I went back to have a look, the signs were everywhere and were clear to see, had I bothered looking. It was my fault, yet PE still cancelled the fines for me.

If the OP wasn't so cagey with the details they'd get a lot more help, hiding where they were and other such things doesn't help their case. A simple streetview image would show whether they were correct with regard to signage and therefore whether they would have a case to pursue but instead opt to keep the location secret for some strange reason.
It's understandable for people to question the timings, 2.5hours is a long time to eat fast food, even with supposedly slow eaters. Lets face it, it'll be stone cold in 10 mins. i've dined with similar sized groups in proper restaurants in less time.

Isn’t that the exact definition of a ‘public’ forum? You put yourself out there asking for people’s opinions, if you don’t like the answers there’s no one to blame but yourself. I haven’t seen anything on this post that would be classed as trolling or bots.

As for ‘bullying/wouldn’t be allowed in the workplace’ etc - have we really got to such a state that if anyone disagrees/questions the comment made by (an equally anonymous) poster, we just suck it up as the truth, not wanting to question it for fear of being called a bully?

My personal view is that if I wanted some genuine advice I’d have contacted the company concerned and asked them, not plastered it on a forum, expecting everyone to agree with my opinion.

Contact Parking Eye. A family member had a similar issue with them at a shop, they didn’t finish shopping in the time permitted. I appealed on their behalf, on the basis of disability (quoting equality act) . I included images of the blue badge. PCN cancelled, and exemption on time limit at the store in future.
