In fairness - he got well and truly clawed.... more of his blood on the thread than the poor biker's.
My husband was as "patronising as hell" on it
and I was "condescending".... But no matter - we have all kissed and made up! We are still on "speaking terms." I am sure the whole episode made us all think a bit more about the dangers and how we should be trying to resolve them too.

I fairness the one that said that doesn't even count as a real plod yet, IMO he's still a crap IT salesman thats just been to police school for a few weeks so far. Once he's had the shit kicked out of him a few times, grown up a bit, and learnt that his uniform is not like Batfinks cape he might qualify to give an informed opinion, untill that time I'd treat his views as no more informed than any other Joe on the street.
Infact here's my tuppence on the whole Plod postings thing. Lets get this straight Coppers are a cross section of normal members of the public who choose to do a specific job for various reasons, they are not all clones manufactured for the establishment.
Some do it for the right reasons and motivation the desire to help and give something back to the community other for their own ego and power trip because they couldn't fight very well at school. They are no different to everyone else you meet in everyday life some people you like and respect other you can't stand and get a desire to punch.
So there we have it life according to Mel, some BIB's that post say sensible stuff, are decent people and indeed have personally given me well respected and informative advice in the past that I appreciate, others just spout shite.

Sadly...what you say can be attributed to everything.
Ive worked with some people who i would class as idiots (not my cup of tea type of people), but by the same token, others have been superb and i class them as more than colleagues.
Obviously we see this senarion everyday.
Some MOP's i would do anything for and others, well.......lets just say that they dont bring out the best in me.

Problem is Plodboss only wants the ones that spout shite.
Plodboss should be sacked and his job given to the Streetcops of this world - someone who has a clue about policing.
I certainly don't agree with everything he says, but he makes our local Chief Constable (Hayman) look like a right ignorant w**ker - which admittedly is not that difficult ;-)
It's pathetic really - I mean Streetcop is ONE cop (of what, three or four ?) on ONE noticeboard and is leant on (?) ; I mean short of him writing pages of racist rants or something at that level what difference does it make ?
Are the Police so pathetic that they need to control everything, every source of information, every bit of external contact ?
Wouldn't the time spent monitoring PH be better spent catching some criminals ?
Our local Plodmob advertised for some media coordinator job (or some such garbage) at an absurd amount of money (would pay I suspect for 4 or 5 BiB).
The Cops to me seem to be driven by PR (as a group, not individual BiB) - if the PR is all right f**k the actual effectiveness.

What you say is soooo true - and is attitude i take too.
Unfortunately some people seem to have an experience with one bad copper and renounce to all that'll listen that they have no respect for coppers and they are all nobbers etc etc 
Doubly unfortunately they see one good cop that has a sensible hat on, on here and think that they'll all be like that when they get caught doing 150 on the M5...
Break it to 'em gently eh? Just normal people doing normal things - some with chips on their pips...
