Carrying fuel question

Mine says

You will not be covered for any liabilities you may have for any of the following:
The ownership, operation, maintenance or use of any car principally used for:
■ ...
■ bulk transportation of liquefied petroleum, gasoline or any inflammable liquid

All my (race) petrol is in the trailer, but even so I think I am ok (from an insurance policy point of view) carrying 60l in cans and another 30 in the race car.

Thanks guys, im more wondering on the consequences of getting pulled with multiple full jerry cans in a vehicle. Or say a 50 gallon drum secured in the back of a van.

This is what Red Devil thinks:
So max 30 litres to stay within the law.
I've not read the references to try and make sense of it myself.

So whether the car is stationary or in motion makes no difference whatever. You're limited to 30 litres.

Well nearly every racecar team breaks the law on a regular basis. I've never heard of anyone getting nicked for it though. Imagine if the regs were enforced!

I once made a right fool of myself waiting on a ferry - security fella spotted a 5l fuel can through the back window.
Him - "Is that full?"
Me - "Yes"
Him - "I'm afraid you can't bring a container of petrol on the ferry sir, you'll have to empty it"
Me - "Well where the hell do you suggest I pour it? Down the drain? Over the car park?"
Him - "Into the fuel tank perhaps, Sir?"

More worried about you pouring fuel over their boat than the dangers of flammable vapour?

I presume they were more worried about it leaking and somehow going on fire, than a miniature fuel-air bomb!

I've recently stopped filling the drums I carry, frequently carrying 4 x 50/60 ltr drums. Apart from 1 attendant, all the others let me fill in a couple of goes. Most circuits are OK,though Brands we use the station up the road while Snett is either wait for noise test to finish or use the fuel station heading towards the premier inn as they don't mind!
