Dispute with landlord
Discussion
Any opening or closing inventory needs to be countersigned by the tenant, without the same then the landlord will be in a near impossible to deduct any monies for repairs from the deposit monies.
The OP needs to first make a request to the landlord for the full return of the deposit monies, if the landlord either fails to respond to the OP’s request, or deducts monies from the OP’s deposit monies, then the OP should raise a deposit dispute with Mydeposits info@mydeposits.co.uk.
Whilst raising a deposit dispute can initiate the start of an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), both the landlord and the tenant has to agree to the same.
A deduction of monies by the landlord for non-cleaning of carpets, cleaners, etc. the landlord would not only require the above signed inventory, but also proof that the carpets, curtains etc. perhaps a cleaning contractor’s invoice etc.
