Worth pointing out that the Caddy will be an awful tow vehicle in that the back end is so light the trailer will want to push it round every bend sideways.
Allegedly... I towed a 2000kg (unladed) trailer with another Caddy on the back with my old 2004 1.9 TDi that had already done 150000 miles, with out issue. The Caddy is a great van, now on my second looking to change it for another.

Unless it was the trailer for an artic I think you're mistaken.A heavy 16' trailer weighs around 500kg
Something like a biggish mobile bog trailer is close to 3,500kg - a small one's 2,000kg.
