Cameron, "Do as I say, not as I do". He has/had a Lexus LS600h-L and driver. Check out the list price for the rear seat relaxation package, nearly £100,000! But they will say "We got a big discount and the car is green" Also if he gets to be Prime Minister, whats the cost for several hi-tech bullet proof Jags & Range Rovers?
Also the ex soldier who had asked for his help as his MP, but 30+ calls were ignored. David Cameron is just the usual politician.
Probably. Labour's Red Ken was another cracking example. Also the ex soldier who had asked for his help as his MP, but 30+ calls were ignored. David Cameron is just the usual politician.

If Cameron has bought a car - that is not out of the public's purse it is from his or his party's. Also the ex soldier who had asked for his help as his MP, but 30+ calls were ignored. David Cameron is just the usual politician.
If he wants to buy that car and pay a driver, then all that is doing is putting a big chunk of tax INTO the public purse.
Do you not think Brown or Blair, or any other PM for that matter has specially protected cars...?
From my limited knowledge of the PITO deals, Ford offer the best part of 50% off list, which took Solihull Dustbins to between £25-30K for the cars that the public paid £50-60K for.
One force that I have dealt with took on a number of Range Rovers on that deal, and only planned to keep them for a year, where they aimed to make a profit on the re-sale. They were used for VIP close protection, so didn't get butchered for blues & twos.
Mondeo 2.0L TDCi estates come in around 10K.
VW don't offer stuff all. If you can get more than 10% you're doing well.
GM also offer big discounts, similar to Ford.
Proton's probably run out at the same kind of money even with any discounts!!!
Residuals for panda cars - you what? They get whatever they get. Because of the use (and abuse) of these specced-down cars, if they get £500 at auction, that's it. Traffic cars, well depending on the badge, they get around 10-20% of their purchase price.
You can bet that the £73K posh Toyota will have cost them circa £35K. If that. It all depends how hungry Toyota are to getting their foot in the door.
If Cameron did pay for it, isn't that more about poking on in the eye of Hull's finest - Knuckles Prescott?

i live in hull and see the is-f fairly regularly. i
its true that the panda cars around here are protons, but ime the trafpol mainly use volvo estates with a few bmw x5's/ range rovers for incident support.
there is also the evo x which i guess is used for fast pursuit, which always travels in tandem with a bmw saloon with police dogs in the back.
the is-f always travels solo, and i can't think of a single reason for its existence other than PR value for lexus. i've never seen it being driven in anger - it usually cruises around town [often shocking lane discipline ime] whereas the evo/bmw hang around the main roads / dual carriageways or parks up on the a63 to the west of the city centre.
