What did the Dealer say when you pointed out the Filthy state of the car and the USB charger when you picked up the car?
It hasn't been with the dealer. I genuinely don't think he's seen much of it. It's been at a garage a few miles from him for weeks. I told him I was pissed off and he apologised. Also the garage I collected it from were closed as a director had passed and they were attending the funeral (verified by neighbouring businesses) I was told the key would be left with the neighbours - it wasn't. Thankfully I'd had the sense to take the spare.
the dealer has an excellent online reputation - he's been pretty let down by the garage I think. The old cats were in the boot too - no idea why they thought I might want them - they're empty.

If the old cats were already empty when they took them off, the garage may have assumed the owner of the car had performed a cat-delete, and would want them back to refit to the car in the future. Update: today I took a mechanic friend out in the car to see if he could confirm what the noise was when accelerating. He also suspects that it is an exhaust leak where the new cat has not been fitted correctly.
On return home after a 20 mile trip I mentioned to him that there was an oil leak I had noticed underneath. On looking underneath the car there was coolant pissing out everywhere - the expansion tank had cracked.
I have contacted the dealer who has agreed to a full refund including warranty and fees and he is collecting the car on Monday.
It is a shame as the car was in amazing condition and has been upgraded to professional satnav 2016 - I had also just spent a couple of hours cleaning it! Ah well back to searching for something else I guess.

So now I have the car back finally.
It now has an extra 600 miles on the clock, still had a usb adapt or plugged in the cigarette lighter (I guess the phone needed charging on the commute), absolutely filthy - covered in bird crap and drinks spilt inside and oil and mud on the dash/carpets.
Most concerning is that the idrive now says it is overdue an oil service by 90 miles. Before it went in it had just had one and the idrive said it was due in 12000 miles. As the service intervals are calculated by the car depending on usage, I'm wondering how they've managed this. All the other service items are showing as they were before the repair.
There is now a strange fluttering/chattering noise under acceleration which wasn't there before. Apparently it's nothing to worry about.
Any thoughts?
Monumentally unprofessional and unacceptable. The mileage it's covered - which is what you were worried about - isn't the problem there, though, is it?It now has an extra 600 miles on the clock, still had a usb adapt or plugged in the cigarette lighter (I guess the phone needed charging on the commute), absolutely filthy - covered in bird crap and drinks spilt inside and oil and mud on the dash/carpets.

Managing to make the servicing computer say that it's overdue a service when 600 miles previously it was saying it was due in 12000 is some feat. The garage is based in London. Why on earth would it need to drive the equivalent of going to Birmangham and back to test for a misfire? It's pretty evident it was abused - which is pretty much what I thought would happen.
You would probably just let them have it back for another 6 weeks and let them abuse it some more. Fair play to you.
