They broke the window, in order to open the door..

Of course , had he had unbreakable windows they could have bent the door and got in that way, but that would presumably be his fault for not having reinforced doors installed, rather than the fault of the thief

so they got in through (as in via) the windows? Which was my earlier question. One or the other surely, not both?

I thought your earlier question was how did they get the stuff out, not how did they gain access originally? They smashed the window in order to open the door in order to steal the interior

TBH though, when i mentioned unbreakable/tinted windows earlier, I was really having a dig at the tinted windows laws. You can't leave things on show, and you can't buy a product that will stop people from seeing your stuff either

you know the reason for that and it has nothing to do with car security and everything to do with drivers who already have trouble seeing other road users.

Not if you only drive during your pimped out pride and joy in nice weather , during the day, or put your windows down if it is dark, which could easily be a choice we are allowed to make for ourselves.

Or just make it your fault if you have any accident at night with dark windows. They don't have to be banned

stop it! We all know that giving the sort of people who think they are a cool accessory the choice is a recipe for more accidents. Unfortunately sometimes blanket legislation is necessary to save the public at large from morons. (we could also be given the choice to have insurance or not)

You can get clear security film for windows.
You'd probably still end up with a smashed window though.

Best plan of action is not to leave any valuables on display.
