The lady probably took a vindictive delight in witnessing your irritation. Indeed she may have found your reaction amusing. She is probably the type who has sloppy standards, or is anti-materialistic & for her a car is nothing more than a convenient appliance. She probably farts in public & might sit next to you on a plane never using a handkerchief when sneezing - you know the type.
Making a fuss and/or pursuing a claim would as others have pointed out a waste of time & money.
Could the damage be removed by one of those mobile chappies who come to your work/home & effect magical repairs?
