hay fever sneezing fit.......
Discussion
did you know that sneezing is the same neural process as having an orgasm? fact of the day..........
However, having a multitude of orgasms while driving on the motorway is not a funny thing.
What do you do in these circumstances?
(and I'm just waiting for the jokey comments to flood in)

Being slightly serious it's a good question, I don't have hayfever but do have the odd sneezing fit..
My solution, whilst not very nice especially if you have a passenger, is to (as you feel the build up) increase the gap between you and the car in front - and sneeze - do not attempt to cover with hand, try to keep eyes open (even if a bit streamy) and looking ahead - too much work to try mirrors as well - oh and try not to do the rock head back and forth motion.
Interesting colour the interior screen wipes come out next time you clean the inside of the car!

gopher said:As it's a wholly reflex action to shut them, it is impossible to keep your eyes open when you sneeze (even if you think you did). Closing you eyes might be the least of your problems, as when you sneeze, your heart stops beating and you stop breathing - you are momentarily DEAD!
... try to keep eyes open ...
gopher said:Sneezing is an enormously powerful bodily convulsion second only to orgasm in its intensity. In this context, what your 'solution' says about you is entirely your concern . (BTW - the fastest sneeze recorded was 106.3 mph whilst ejaculation reaches only some 28mph.)
... try not to do the rock head back and forth motion.

Streaky
PS - people suffering from photic sneeze reflex (or 'ACHOO' - a 'backronym' for Autosomal dominant Compelling Helio-Ophthalmic Outburst) may not fly combat aircraft - S
PPS - 'sneezing' is technically called 'sternutation' - S

Sneezing inside your bike helmet without time to lift the visor introduces a whole new world of entertainment
Not quite as entertaining as watching somebody puke whilst wearing a gas mask!
Hopefully not as a result of a leak in their gas mask, allowing ingress of a painfully toxic nerve gas, which induces nausea, vomitting, muscle cramp, tremors, hallucination, loss of bowel and bladder control, sustained fitting, uncontrollable bleeding, and eventual death?
But I'm sure you didn't mean that, and are quite normal, really.
Back on topic,
What would be the likely legal implications of an accident occurring as a result of someone sneezing while driving. the sneeze itself (as distinct from a condition such as hayfever) and related involuntary actions are not something that can be controlled. Could you be 'done' for anything as a direct consequence?
