Mate from work told me of this the other day following another car through a 60 he watched as the car in front swerved from side to side onto the wrong side of the road then back then clipping the curb then driving straight then gradually drifting out then snapping back (asleep?) and anyway my mate calls the police on his mobile and tells them what he is seeing. Police officer says "Don't worry just carry on your way and go home" mate says "but the car has been all over the road and could hurt someone!" police officer not interested moves onto a new subject "So im going to have to ask you the obvious question.. are you using hands free?" at which mate replied that he wasnt but thought under the circumstances he needed to use it police officer replied that "as you are only going 15-20mph i'll let it go this time, by the way what car do you have *Vectra V6* i see any identifying marks *yea a bodykit...* oh i see out for a cruise are we? *no just been thanks*"

That was pretty much it rather then have any interest in the driver in front that was either fallign asleep at the wheel or drunk they moved onto my mate over his mobile and yes i know he would fit into the boy racer category but surely things should be balanced out over which is more dangerous someone obviously aware that the driver in front is driving dangerously but having to use a mobile or the driver who's not fully all there.

Just think it was poorly handled and really shows a prime example of why people get annoyed with police priorities.

That does seem to be, errr.. some rather questionable Police work. You would like to think that the cops would be more interested in getting the swerving driver off the road.

The only thing that I can think of to elicit that response is maybe they had already gotten 20 calls on the swerving driver and the dispatcher was having difficulty getting an officer on the seen and was getting frustrated.

Or maybe that cop is just a jerk?

I thought you didn't have to use hands free for calls to the cop shop...

I made a call to the police while driving at the weekend cos I spotted youths throwing stones and stuff onto traffic from a footbridge, they thought they were easily concealed but 'Hawkeye' Tony spotted them and rang the police pronto. In two minutes a traffic cop called my mobile and they were on their way, pretty responsive, was quite shocked
