Ok, Ive been done. (well, I have an NIP in my name!)

Was in Wales to visit the parents, came off a dual carriageway (70mph limit) and was done as it turned into a 50 .. speed 68mph .... Bugger.

Time to ask for a copy of my Photo / video I think just to see if it was me or the wife driving

£60 donation to South Wales Scamera Partnership

Hopefully the photo will clearly show which one of you was driving .

Don't do anything AT ALL until you've gone to the fightback forums at www.pepipoo.com

Fight them.

Took mine all the way to Mags Court. Stuck to the fact that we couldn't remember who was driving. Lots of NIP's and "threatening" letters. Kept asking for the video evidence, never available. Had it been available, I'm sure that we would still have problems recognising the driver as it was from the rear of the car.
In Court the CPS agreed to offer no evidence......

Good luck with it.

Sounds familier and local, do you know the road?
If its the one i'm thinking about they hide on the other side of the road round a corner

This is going to sound like a stupid question but if you ask for photos to try and identify the driver will they then ask you to provide your insurance docs to prove that the someone else is able to drive the vehicle?

Told you, stupid question.

I was not asked, at any time, to provide insurance details for myself or my wife.

When I got my last ticket in south wales, i was right on the boarderline of losing 3 out of 9 points but no-one was sure weather it was the offense or conviction date that mattered since those points went to court.

I phoned up the wales scamerae partnershio and they said, quote "We dont worry about that sort of thing here, just send it back in with the fine and we will process it anyway"

About the money much...?

im Not worried about the Insurance side of things, Both me and the Wife are insured for each others cars.

Im not too bothered about the fine or the points to be honest.... Yes the Scamera's are a revenue source, yes they target the motorist (ok the law was broken, but its not like it was dangerous ... Sunday lunchtime on an empty dual carriageway (hardly schooltime was it?))

I am more concerned with the driver of the car at the time.. Both me and the wife drive to see our parents, and it could have been either one of us. If its conclusing evidence that I was driving, then I accept it.

If it was a van don't forget to ask for the police service number of the serving police officer who formed the impression of excessive speed before the speed measurement equipment was used.
