My missus has just been summoned for jury service.
Playing devils advocate, I asked her what her stance would be on someone being charged with say 120mph plus ( I believe there was a case recently, that hasn't gone to court yet). She doesn't drive, but enjoys a spirited spin on the back of my bike now and then.

Now come on then boys and girls, how do you think she'll likely go???

Her response: unless it's some complete tw@ who is quite obviously a danger to the public (and apparently, this doesn't include the authorities idea of what is dangerous).......not guilty !!!!!

I hope there are a few more likeminded jurors about, then we could get on with proving that someone was driving dangerously, instead of just over some arbitrary figure.

Exactly why there are 12 people on a jury. There may be another one with extremely opposite views. This tends to cancel out the idiotic bias as described by yourself and the opposite view as described by me.

2 idiots cancel each other out.

Going back to that NSX on the M4, and since, there are already enough verdicts "in" to show that a high speed is more likely to be acquitted as dangerous driving than receive a guilty verdict, if the conditions are right - e.g. vehicle suited, driver experienced, good weather, open road, light traffic, and so on. This is reasonable and will undoubtedly remain this way as there are more sensible open-minded folk than blind followers of some failed speedophobic mantra.

She will, like many before her, listen intently to what the prosecution outline, what the defence submit, and the final submission from the Judge. She will then be in a postion to reflect and give a true verdict, one not clouded by pre concieved ideas as to what is or isn't dangerous driving.

Blimey DVD, as I read that I heard the national anthem playing and nearly saluted

Und in "Twelve Angry Men" - the hero managed to persuade them all after several hours that the guy was innocent.

Ist an excellent film ...Steviebabes. You must watch it. The "hero juror"...in the film... a kindred Wildycat type

Und my sister-in-law once did jury service. Guy was guilty as hell - but youngest juror disagreed - "because defendant was similar age" It went to majority verdict on the car- ringing scam he was charged with ..But mit speed issues ...since majority see your scamming as big rip off now.... having become members of the 40% ripped off ....they will not be as objective as they should be - Liebchen.

Another reason why ist not such a good idea to be so draconian on speed. Ist really counter-productive....

The judge will explain what Dangerous Driving actually is and explain that Dangerous Driving isn't actually a test of whether the driving was dangerous in the same way that DCOA isn't about whether you are paying attention
