This morning I received the summons for driving without insurance, driving without licence and wilfully obstructing a police officer.

I just thought I should post details of what I have been charged with as there were a fair few people interested in my foolish misadventures. They were a while ago now and I should have mentioned that for those who do not remember my previous posts.

Ist a long story - original stroy was a 10 -pager

I am sure the court will take sorriest guilty person's obvious remorse into account. I doubt if they will throw away key on this one.

But ist to be hoped that guiltiest und sorriest person has money to pay the fines und costs. But am sure the remorse und fact he owned up will count in favour.

I have not yet approached a solicitor and am a little unsure as to the best course of action. Should I ask for the prosecution's case details or anything. I plan to plead guilty, but I don't know if I can plead mitigating circumstances or similar.

I just hope to god that a custodial sentence isn't likely.

Seek legal advice, Liebchen.

Go to yellow pages - und look for the free half hour ones first.

Get all facts clear in your head - you need to be able to explain yourself clearly, objectively und yet convey remorse.

Try pepipoo as well.

I doubt they will lock you up over this... you made clean breast und a clearly very remorseful.

Bit seek out the best und best value for money legal help on this.

you'll probably get a big fine (expect anything from £350+ as no insurance is min. £250 iirc),banned for 6 months and told not to do it again.

The guy made a mistake and went to the police station of his own free will to admit it.

So personally I think he deserves a slap, and nothing more.

Thanks guys for all the support, those of you who do or did. I don't want to tell you exactly when or where the trial??? is as I don't think an audience of speeding advocates would quite help my cause, but I will let you know what happens as soon as I do. Presuming I dont go to jail. This isn't the monopoly one and I presume I wouldn't have internet access.

I've read through a few similar cases and there are occasions when people do get the maximum one month jail sentence for obstructing a PC, but they seem to be for people who did it maliciously and then didn't own up. I hope I'm right in that. A stretch, however long, would cost me everything I hold dear in my life.

I do not condone - but think positive. Get decent legal advice. I think you had better start saving for a big fine and costs - but I think you will be spared jail based on your story - and reported outcomes per press and Traffic Cops! (He only got a ban and £50 for no licence, insurance and so on! ) You, because you owned up and are presumably employed - of course - will receive the max fine possible. I'd start feeding your money box!

But I'd be surprised if they locked you up (says he - to be reassuring and nice for a change)

Taken up in getting your details and those of the alleged offence.

"Now to business, Mr X. Oh, dear! I see your half-hour is up. You're on the clock now, is that OK?"

Cynic, moi? Mais non!

Burglars don't get locked up these days!
You are hardly likely to be experiencing stripey daylight for any period on an obstruction charge .

Very true!

Guiltybutsorry, its a shame you didn't get caught while leaving the seen of a crime. Going off what I saw on traffic cops a few days ago you'd have got a £50 fine, 6 points on your licence and all other charges dropped.......

I don't condone your actions at all but as long as you tell the truth and admit what you did then I doubt they'll throw the book at you too hard. At least you'll be free to get on with your life without this coming back to bite you on the arse in 5 or 10 years time!
