hi all!! my mate from the USA visited me and borrowed my car flew past a truvelo at 60 (speed limit 50) hes gone home now left me with this mess all i can can do is provide the police with his name and address will they still persue it if hes in the states? i remember jeremy clarkson got 12 sppeding tickets on a test drive when he was there the officer said 'make sure you pay these tickets before you leave' and jemery was liek 'yeah whatever' and it seems like anyone from outside the uk i think cant be charged due to them not having a UK licence,am i misled? can anyone shine some light on this, im desperate for some facts on this..regards david
Fill in the NIP with his details and you have complied with the law. What they do then is up to them.

With regards to the latter, I believe a simple "I asked him if he was insured and he said he was" will suffice.
Not exactly, you can still be done fpor 'permitting'. You should see the other drivers insurance cover before letting them drive, and, bear in mind, the UK is one of the few countries where it is the driver/car combo that is insured, in most countries, the USA included, it is the CAR that is insured, not the driver, therefore if you let a foreigner drive your car you should make sure that YOUR insurance covers them.

yes thats what i thought aswell as long as i provide details its up to them i suppose to follow it up ive done my side of the bargain what if he has moved since the offence which im sure he has and the NIP goes to his empty house? stale mate i guess
