Tesco vouchers Stolen and Account Switched
Discussion
Got an email in the early hours to say my email address to Tescos online had been successfully changed.
Not by me it hadn't.....
Anyhow got on to Tescos this morning and they were actually really good and as I had supporting documentation etc I was able to switch it all back. Took a while as there was quite a trail left with many things switched. The thieves had actually stolen my club card vouchers and are currently eagerly awaiting a playstation tv to be delivered to their local store.
Now this order has been cancelled and I have my vouchers back but I have the thieves mobile number. I would like to take revenge. Any useful (and legal) ideas?
It may just be a disposable so I have a limited window of opportunity.

Text them a picture of a blue waffle if you must, but it would be easier to just move on with your life.
I have moved on, it was just for my entertainment. It has taken me an hour of my life to sort it all out and gather documentation and just felt like having some amusement at their expense. No big deal.
I have reported it to police for fraud and Tescos have all the details.

This is the first I've heard of this "playstation tv" thing, not sure why anyone would want one but ok..Surely if they've ordered this they'll be picking it up?
Lie in wait.. or, you know, get the police to?
I'd be worried about how they managed to do it, maybe?
I just spoke to my wife about this thread as she is a customer services manager for Tesco and deals with Clubcard,E-mails,phone calls etc.
She said that over the last two years this is happening a hell of a lot with people taking over your E-maol address and is the same with all the companies with loyalty cards. The customer has to call the police and Tesco have a fraud team that work in conjunction with the police to investigate the cases. She is aware that at least 20 people have gone to prison for this fraud and thats just with Tesco.

For a moment I thought you meant code for the game, then realised you probably meant the play.btcc123 said:

What is the mechanism of them taking over accounts and are they learning whether accounts have a large credit/vouchers balance or just stealing accounts at random? She said that over the last two years this is happening a hell of a lot with people taking over your E-maol address and is the same with all the companies with loyalty cards. The customer has to call the police and Tesco have a fraud team that work in conjunction with the police to investigate the cases. She is aware that at least 20 people have gone to prison for this fraud and thats just with Tesco.

You've not thought this through have you. Firstly it'll cost you money to that on a PAYG phone. Second,y it takes more than 500 texts for Othello amd thirdly the guy who did it did the whole of Shakespeare's works. Other than that Cool Story Bro. http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/Bristol-man-gets-reve...

Every theft to vouchers and it seams to be random amounts is reported to the Tesco fraud team along with issues with internet shopping, home shopping, staff fraud etc and they work closely with a police dept that deals with this fraud. It seams to be getting worse and although the thieves my think it is minor as they are vouchers but actually they are stealing money.
