27 mph in a 20 zone - nicked.
Discussion
My fault entirely. Saw the truvelo, checked I wasn't hurtling along at more than 30. Travelled a bit further down the wide grass verged road and spotted the 20mph sign.
Thought 20mph zones weren't policed as such.
Anyway, got a NIP from Beds Plod.
Am I likely to get a speed awareness course or 3 points on my clean licence. Not been on a course before, so clearly that's why I missed the 20mph signs..

IIRC, Speed Awareness Courses for 20mph limit indiscretions is something they started rolling out across the country a couple of years ago (NSAC20).
Whilst the 27mph alleged is within the qualifying range for such a course, your chance of an invite will be zero if Bedfordshire hasn't yet adopted the scheme.
You could perhaps give AA Drivetech a call in the morning and ask them directly - 0845 345 9623.

Serious danger here. Of being overtaken by cyclists.

Implies repeaters are needed.
Not sure 1 solitary repeater on the whole bit I could be bothered to look at classes as sufficient repeaters. (if you;re fighting it, obviously)

Why is it even 20? Decent road, flat and straight as far as the eye can see with houses set back from the road and good wide grass verges and footpaths. No reason for that to be 20 at all, 30 would be perfectly fine with enforcement by the Truvelo if they insist.
If the limit is lower than reasonable, you're more likely to see a revenue gathering exercise.Gassing Station | Speed, Plod & the Law | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
