Caught by two plod with a hair dryer about twn minutes ago, 44 in a 30. In my dfence its on a road where its 30 for about 500 yards its all straight and u can so to the NSL zone, there is 2 houses and a restaurant so hardly a busteling village!!!!

They were hidden behing a brick garage thing and stepped out in front of me I had to brake hard just not to run them over. They said that what if they had been children stepphing out in front of me. I had to reply that children should be taught the highway code so they dont step out in front of cars.

Then tried to say but what if a car had pulled out a junction of the restaurant, so I said that wouldnt be my faulyt it would be his!!! They didnt like this.

He then asked me what his job was, appartently its not to catch innocent motorists straying over the speed limit. Its to save lives. He then tried the have you ever seen an accident zone. I said I havent because I've never had an accident.

Told him I was driving at a speed where I could stop in teh distance I could see ahead of me but apparently according toplod that is irrelevant and that you have to stick to speed limits. He said they are not pulled out of hats. I asked what if the speed limit was dropped to 30 on motorways tonight, would it be dangerous to drive at 70 all of sudden. He said thats not the point. IT BLEEDING IS ACCORDING TO YOU, ITS DANGEROUS TO GO OVER THE SPEED LIMIT, THATS WHEN CHILDREN DIE AND ACCIDENTS HAPPEN AND THE APOCOLYPSE DAWNS!!!!!

I told them I thaught it was shocking that they were position there where no-one could see them and where there are NO children and not outisde schools in my village or outside the street at myhouse where boy racers regularly go up at crazy speeds and it is BUSY VERY BUSY!

He said he does go to kelty on north road, but would you belive it North Road is a 60 with no houses and its prefectly safe to do over 60mph!!!

His deparing words to me were my attitude was a worry to society. Well I HOPE HE LOSES SLEEP WANKER!!!!!!!

I think its sad that the first proper interaction I have had to have with the police is through two arrogant small minded individuals who spoke to me like I was something they scraped off their shoe and that I had commited a heinous (sp?) crime.

Well the next time I see a "proper" crime being commited i will turn a blind eye to it and if the police ever ask me for a statement or ask if I was ever a witness they will be told why I am not interested in speaking to THEM!

Because oh yes it is THEM and US, and as far as Im concerned tonight that divide got whole a lot bigger.

Oh and do I have to take my licence into the station or do I send it by post. Im sure he probably told me but I had heard of enough of his lies and propaganda that I eventually switched off.

Also I didnt appreciate having that thing pointed at me when I was standing being told off I am hardly going to break the speed limit on foot am I !!!

Dunfermline, if you know it, it is the area just over the railway crossing down from the roundabout along from Asda..They were behind a wall or garage or something and I didnt see them till they stepped out in front of me.

I had just crossed the railway crossing and was heading for the NSL zone at the top of the hill.

Totally agree, I dont even know if the Green Cross Code is still taught in school..

In fact when I was down Manchester on work I saw a section of pavement at a crossing and it had 'LOOK RIGHT' painted on the pavement. FFS YOU SHOULDNT NEED TO BE TOLD!!!!

The problem with this approach in paying for a course is that you know you would be going to a course to have the same speed kills message shoved down your throat that you get from traffic police at road side. So again you have spent money, wasted a day, have points on licence and have gained nothing.

Road Safety enforcment will not change until THERE views change from trying to improve drivers rather than slowing them down and preaching speed kills.

To be honest I would rather just take the fine and points than spend a day or more listening to there "words of wisdom".

That is the honest truth, I would not go on one of your courses. I had the same view on this before I got stopped as well.

Personally I feel I can learn more from experience and driving on the road than I can in a class room as well.
