Got pulled by police bike for all aledgedly doing 97 in a 70 (at 590m) police man kindly showed me speed gun showing 97 and said that he would give me 3 points and a £60 fine.
From memory I pulled out on the A road in question to move out the way of a caravan pulling out of a rest lane, if I hit the speed aledged it must have been briefly, to be faiir not sure I was anywhere near.
Do I have any options or just be thankful for 3 points?
Cheers

Think I will count myself luck that the Police officer used his discretion, still not convinced I was going 97, but probably 80 ish. either way I'll take the slap on the wrist.
Clear straight road in excellent conditions, light traffic, in a year old car built to cruise on autobahns at 155. Still seems like we are stuck with 1960's laws![wink](/inc/images/wink.gif)
First points on licence in the 20 years I have had one. Do 3 points make much difference to insurance ?
