How far away can a Mini Gatso catch you?

Hi Chaps

I passed my Local SCP van this morning and got a the usual "beep-beep" from my radar detector. The van and operator were equiped with a Mini Gatso (I know this as I have had a look before) the question is, if I was speeding, at what distance will the camera take a snap? I was about 150M away when I spotted him and I was travelling towards the van. I remember chatting to an operator some months back and he said that a Mini Gatso can be used to catch both directions of traffic flow.

I think I can answer your question. setting up a mini gatso is a bit of a pain in the tits, especially if its in a van. you need to level the camera to take into accound road camber and rake, then you use what is essentially a marker post. it's a red & white post used to validate the camera distance from the edge of its trigger zone. no idea how it works though. as for validating pictures, i think they super-impose the white lines back at scamra HQ using a computer program.
