Got ticket for 75 - 80 on M25

Hi chaps,
My freind at work has got a ticket after being stopped on the M25, whilst driving at approx 75-80mph. It was an un-marked car. He was also not the fastest person on the road at the time, as numerous cars were over-taking him.
On the ticket, it says "excess speed -70mph". There is no speed recorded on the ticket to indicate what he is being prosecuted at, or caught driving at.
Does anybody know if this is right, or if this is an oversight that would render the ticket void?
(seems a bit harsh at the speed he was going, any how)
